LMAO... I don't think he would use it. And Ryuk would be sooo bored. HAHAHA But then again.. it wouldn't be called The Death Note anime anymore, and it wouldn't have a plot really.

i think that L would have lasted longer with the death note because he is weirder and less predictable

There would be no story. Light and L believe in different kinds of justice, L would never use the Death Note. Also Ryuuk drops the Death Note on purpose for Light to pick it up because he thinks the way Light is thinking is interesting. Ryuuk wouldn't drop it for L, so there would be no notebook for the story to be about.

he's a detective. he won't break the rules xD I think he just wants to see how it works, then he meet Ryuuk, then finds it's a "bad item" and keeps it away. Light will somehow find it and the original story starts xD

When I first saw the cover of death note, I thought that light was the detective and L was the bored guy. I was wrong big time. Best Anime Ever!!!

Although they have similar intelligence and all that, their philosophy and approach to "cleanse" the world are totally different. L wouldn't use the Death Note. There wouldn't be a story. Just my opinion.
