Its nice there are some good ones out there saves me always having to read subtitles. Ones i've seen with good dubs are Love Hina, Inuyasha, Bleach, Elfen Lied (but i still prefer sub on that one) School Rumble (so far) Ai Yori Aoshi, Howls Moving Castle, Evangelion, Please Teacher (but not Please Twins), Fruits Basket, Shuffle! (well about half and half for that one) Coyote Ragtime Show and Hell Girl.

Terrible dubs i've seen are Negima, Tokyo Mew Mew, Kanon TV2, Haruhi Suzumiya and She: The Ultimate Weapon (have that lot ever heard of emotion behind flat whining?)

Disagree on Fruits Basket. The dubbing was really bad on that one. I could hardly tell the male voices apart, and the female lead was really... high pitched. High pitched sounds alright in Japanese, but it hardly translates well to English.

Aside from that, I am a big fan of all Studio Ghibli dubs. I thought Spirited Away and The Cat Returns were both amazing.

I wasnt a huge fan of the spirited away dub, but the Cat Returns was good. I run into alot of people who didnt like the Fruits Basket dub, i suppose it was one of my first anime i watched so I got used the English voices. I still believe the manga is better than the anime anyway

gundam wing has an epic dub, i actually prefer it i think.
outlaw star has an awesome one as well, and the evangelion dubs are all very high quality.
oh, and i dont think anyone that grew up in the US will talk shit about the DBZ dub, i can't even take the japanese version seriously because im so used to the dub!

My favorite dubs are Bleach,(admit it, they did a great job), Death Note, Inuyasha, and FMA. Naruto sucked because they cut out all the curse words, and they made Luffy in One Piece sound like a retard.

Luffy is suppose to sound like a retard lol thats his whole end of personification.I disagree with Inuyasha but mainly that due to the terrible off set from plot and repetition.Especially the techniques XD out of some weird occurance he learns a new one and then uses it for 20 episodes then the same sequence repeats itself.Terrible condoned automation <_<.That's not the reason why the One piece dubbed sucked XD its firmly based on the decrepant eulogy of other Character personifications such as Zoro.(plus the the lack of antagnostic personality within the villians.

I think that the more recent dubs are getting a little... lame. Are they even trying anymore, I still remember the old days where I thought "damn Gasaraki did a great job with their dub." But now, all the animes are starting to get more and more shitty voice actors. I guess its because my limited source of income to buy animes that I haven't really got to hear any of the dubs, but from what I'm hearing on Adult Swim with the dubs on Code Geass and whatever else they got on there, I'm am quite disappointed with what I'm hearing.

Dubs have made leaps and bounds since I first started watching anime, back in the early 90s. The problem is that people do not apperciate how good they really are. People should find copies of Samurai Showdown or some of the very first Sailor moon dubs to see just how bad it was. Really considering that our country places more emphasis on live action V animation I would say that the dubs are very good. People tend to forget anime has been around in Japan since 1950.

The Golden Boy dub was pretty good, the guy that voiced Kentaro actually captured his goofiness perfectly. XD

I like most all dubs myself. I also watch anime with both Dubs and Subs on at the same time so that if one translation skips something I can get the whole story by listening to both. It's amazing how much gets left out even in the sub titles.

Actually Japanese animation can be traced back to the mid to early teens. Almost a hundred years ago now.

Check out the dubs when they do the occasional anime movie.

Ah, well I was not sure how far back it was tracked. All I know is that Japan has been doing voice acting a lot longer than we have.
