I never liked dubs...I thought the voice actors were trying too hard to sound like the original actors. From all the dubs I've seen, I'd say FMA and Bleach deserve credit.

One name rings throughout the dubbing world!!!! He has so many Anime titles listed under his works its nuts. Yes i am talking about Johnny Yong Bosch. You may know him as vash from trigun or lelouch from code Geass, or maybe Ichigo from bleach, Renton from eureka seven? But anime aside he is a pretty amazing vocalist and guitarist for band eyeshine.

Dubs have made leaps and bounds since I first started watching anime, back in the early 90s. The problem is that people do not apperciate how good they really are. People should find copies of Samurai Showdown or some of the very first Sailor moon dubs to see just how bad it was. Really considering that our country places more emphasis on live action V animation I would say that the dubs are very good. People tend to forget anime has been around in Japan since 1950.

Actually Japanese animation can be traced back to the mid to early teens. Almost a hundred years ago now.
Ah, well I was not sure how far back it was tracked. All I know is that Japan has been doing voice acting a lot longer than we have.

I am not actually sure about that one, but without looking it up I'll have to take your word for it. Keep in mind though that voice acting can be traced back to puppet shows, so it is really a matter of semantics.

Yes, I do acknowledge that there are some pretty decent dubs out there...

Regardless, I tend to avoid dubs when I can watch subs...

Subs will always be my personal preferance...

Don't get me wrong, there are some decent dubs out there...

I just prefer subs...

And when I say dubs, I'm refering to the english dubbing of Japanese anime...

Cowboy Bebop, Fullmetal Alchemist, Full Metal Panic, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Lucky star and Naruto all have really good dubs. And there a lot more out there!

THE POINT IS, (Fo them people who says dub sucks)

They are way better dub actors than you, and done more dubbing than you. So, to say they suck when you havn't even done it or has no success in it. It just means you suck more? OWNED

I don't mind dubs, I like them It has a different feeling to it than the original.

Last exile and Gundam W are the only animes that really have decent dubs. DBZs was alright considering how much the actors had to work.

Evangelion dub was shit

Lucky Star dub was shittier

FMP dub was even shittier

Code Geass dub is shittiest

True, but I generally look at how much anime has come out over the past century. The quality anime that has come out of japan over the past 100 or so years far out numbers the number of quality cartoons

in before wapanese people say all dubs suck.

lol, thats what I was thinking too

Anyways...this really is a topic to bring all the wapanese people out to say "ALL DUBS SUCK EVEN THOUGH I NEVER TRIED THEM 'CAUSE THE JAPANESE ARE AUTOMATICALLY SUPERIOR IN EVERYTHING!!!!1"

In general I like dubs, easier on the eyes for me. Fruits Basket was the best dub IMO so far that I have seen. I was a bit dissapointed with the Bleach dub but it's still tolerable. Naruto is a good dub (yes I said it Narutards) The lady does an excellent job on his voice. There are bad dubs like Sailor Moon and anything done by 4kids, lol
