Do you shampoo your hair every other day and condition everyday? Because that helps your hair from being dry and dull. My hair used to be really dry so I would use a conditioning treatment at least 2 days a week for a few weeks.

Actually form what I know and what so may other people that I know keep telling me: Shampooing and Conditioning your hair every day is actually bad for your hair. You shampoo your hair to get all the extra oil + the sweat and dirt out of it but its mostly because of all the exctra oil and stuff ...so why shampoo you hair when its not needed?

that is correct, washing your hair everyday does strip your hair of natural oils and makes your hair frizzy . i would suggest every 3 days, unless your using product in your hair like glue or wax which needs to be washed out and reapplied daily .

i would simply suggest never bleaching your hair, it does kill your hair in the worst way .
also pick a fantastic shampoo and conditioner that has alot of vitamins [i never go cheap with my shampoo and conditioner]
they also have alot of serums and oils to prevent frizz which keep your hair smooth and shiny .

i also never allow stylists to use those thinning scissors deep in my hair only on the ends, that only makes your hair uneven and then you will have short length hairs sticking up >.<

It's the products you're using thats probably making that happen.

If you're really worried about it try avoiding styling products if you use any. You might not have the style you want but all styling products leave some kind of residue on your hair and scalp. This can also be said for some Shampoo's and Conditioners. Different types of hair products are geared to have different instant results but may have an adverse effect the fallowing day.

To actually narrow down what you could do to change your circumstances you'll have to be more specific.

***What kind of hair do you have? Thick (not the actual amount of hair you have but the strands themselves)? Thin? Straight? Wavy? Curly? Brittle? Coarse?
***What kind of Shampoo & Conditioner do you use? (brand and type)
***What other kind of hair products (if any) aside from shampoo & conditioner do you use on a daily basis?
***What do you mean by gross? Is it greasy? waxy? dried out? flaky or ashy looking (almost like you have dust in your hair)?

I keep my hair healthy by doing a lot of things.

If I'm using any heated styling equipment I make sure to regularly use oil treatments. I don't use styling products in my hair everyday, never bleach, never chemically straighten or perm, and always get rid of the dead split hair. I'm fond of coloring my hair black but I never color it all at once every single time. Instead I just get the roots touched up every three weeks. Weather can also play havoc on my hair so I make sure to use different treatments and cleansers accordingly.

But I've realized the best way to keep my hair healthy looking and feeling is vitamins and a proper diet.

Dying, straghtening, blow drying etc are never good for your hair. You can keep it healthier with right kind of shampoos and conditioners. And even with long hair, it's better to cut it regulary. Use moistening conditioners, and before straightening/blow drying some spray with thermal protectant. And bleaching is bad for your hair. Want a halthy hair? Don't bleach.

great advice thxxxx :]

DON'T MESS TOO MUCH WITH IT.

I mean, sure. Straightening, waxing, and styling can produce amazing looking hairstyles, but at an awful price. Hence the dead frizzy hair.

Don't do anything to your hair if you can help it. Avoid blowdrying. I've prolly only blowdried my hair 20 times my entire life. xDDD

Before straightening/curling/blowdrying, use a thermal guard. CHI's is really good. It helps lessen damage.

And wash/condition regularly. But don't condition too much, cause that can also be bad for your hair.

But again-best way for healthy hair is to not do anything to it. Whenever you're staying home all day, or doing something super casual, just leave your hair as it is. Or just tie it back if you want to look better.
