Sure it's fictional, but Onizuka makes me believe i could be a teacher, even though i never looked like any of my teachers.....Sure my past isnt as starry as my contemporaries, , but like onizuka thats probably a bigger plus than a minus. You can really tell the rugrats what's up. You can hit the students with an angle of experience the square teachers couldnt begin to fathom. Someone who turned his life around after being a delinquient. Most teachers we know, have a program that goes like this. 1.School, 2.Job, 3.Pension. Not much time to learn the lessons onizuka might have learned as a biker.....Onizuka is a little more in touch with the students.....

Onizuka kinda inspired me to apply for a job as a P.E. teacher in Chinatown SF. i didnt get the job,but if i did, i would be completely, and utterly anxious to be the best damn teacher i could be. Onizuka corrupted me in that sense, but it's all good.

most definitely he does. i mean onizuka. first of all, this guy puts himself on a level plane with his students just to broaden his perspectives.. and this actually gets them to listen to him... and while he may be perverted (what average straight male isn't) .. he's goddamn honest and selfless.. and his actions are always about doing whats right.. he literally is the greatest teacher there ever is.

GTo made me think about changing jobs and become a teacher, my friends are teachers and if i was alot like my friends and was a bad student like onizuka i thought i'd enjoy it too, GTO is 50% of why i am a teacher now, this is my first year teaching and its awesome.

when i bump into my students on the weekend their friends dont believe the students that i am their teacher during the week

Yeah, it does. GTO has actually inspired me to be a better person with the lessons he's taught. Heck, he's a greater hero than Superman, Batman, and Spider-Man combined in my opinion.
