Oo, I read about this!

Anyways, I heard that about 20 000 deaths have been confirmed. O.o Ouch, I remember seeing a picture somewhere of a child's hand sticking out under a building. Must have been painful...So many kids died! T.T And got buried, which might even be worst since it's more painful....

Not necessarily. People can live quite a while and get dug out of the rubble, especially if they have access to some water. If not I think they can live a week or something. So all those lost people aren't necessarily beyond hope yet.

My wife's mother lives like 1,000 miles away from the earthquake and could feel it where she was.

Lost is lost. There other number, 25788, are people who are under rubbles.

Well, I'm not sure how "lost" was calculated, but if 25,788 is the number that they're sure are under rubble then the lost people could still be people under rubble or somewhere else. What exactly does "lost" mean?

How do they even know how many people are under rubbles..? I think "lost" means people who are not under the rubbles or found dead or found alive.
