I have an Ibanez Acoustic/Electric. It's black and purple, very lovely.

Supposedly epiphones are good and fenders...

If you're trying to learn electric guitar I'd suggest getting a start kit with an amp and shit so that its less cost effective. Especially since you're new and you might not like it as much as you'd think.

Both in one, you can plug it into the amp and it will sound electric.

Lol thats pretty badass, but how do they do the fret board? Electric and acoustic fret boards are spaced differently. Do they just keep it the same for the electric or is it wider like the acoustic?

If you just started playing then getting a Yamaha electric isn't a bad idea. You can plug it into a cheap Crate or Line6 amp. A non-American made Stratocaster is also good. Go to a guitar shop and test some models for yourself and find one to your liking.

When you get better then gradually move on to some of the higher end brands.
