sorry guys... you guys are wrong about those post.. lol... well try this one the mazda 787b which was never put back on Le Mans because the weight of the engine compare to the others was very light, but whats the reason for elimating the 787b? who knows, but it took first place like nothing though. for more information you have to research yourself.. ha!
here it is the 787b:

787b was eliminated because of several advantages over the rest of the competitors. The new Audi R10 would spank that 787b.

in your dreams boy! i doubt that... there is nothing that the 787b have that gives the car advantages... what are the advantages? why dont you explain what 787 has that the others dont... it has a engine, it runs, different frame, but so what? its modify like the rest? whats the difference? just the engine.. right? that doesnt mean that they have to eliminate the 787... well it doesnt matter now right... now you guys have to watch out for the Furai instead... plus you piston heads have no clue how the rotary works probably... so if i were you i wouldnt say nothing because all i can say is, is that an engine is an engine... even built differently or runs with a rotary or not its still an engine... people cant just say that o yeah that thing have 4 rotor and its lighter that the others.. duh.... whos fault is it anyways? not the rotary engine but the other engines itself due to the other metal parts they have to throw into make there car run properly and all we need is just the e-shaft, the rotor, get the apex seals done, housing, and wa-la.. boom an engine which makes alot of horse out of that small engine.. also our engine are much more smaller compare to your piston engines...

Audi R10
okay and about the Audi R10.. this thing is much more updated with technology if you dont notice.. if you compared the Audi back where the 787b in Le Mans the Audi would have a chance probably because of technology.. havent you notice that technology has grown so much that all these cars are more top-noch... and probably the Audi R10 could have a good chance also because it has all of these mods on it:

Engine: TDI turbodiesel engine; Shell V-Power Diesel
Engine Size: 5.5 L, all-aluminium bi-turbo 90° V12
Turbo: Two Garrett TR3076R turbochargers
Fuel Injection: Bosch Motronic (MS14) 1600 bar piezo injectors

The car was banned for unfair weight advantages. The 2.6L four rotor engine made the car have a near perfect 50/50 weight ratio with a total weight of 1831 lbs. On top of that, the actual power output of the 787b was higher than the rest of the competition. Most prototype cars weigh 2000lbs.

Car's just don't get banned from Le Mans for no reason.

I know how a rotary works. I'm a rotary nuthead. Do you know who SCR is?

Yeah rotary will push more HP per liter than a piston engine but you don't make torque. At a stock 276HP(as claimed by Mazda), you have 230lb.ft. The RB26, a piston motor, makes 276hp and 293lb.ft. Honda engines don't make alot of torque also. Why are some of them quick? They're just like rotarys, they rev higher.

I wouldn't have a clue who SCR is... but even though the rotary can push much more horse that piston... how and why did you bring up the RB26 in for? im lost right there.. but did you notice that you've changed the subject there? well back to what we were talking about... the Audi R10 might have some advantages but at the same time it could be very close... "Techology" is the key to everyones success, remember that also... dont get me negative thoughts or anything im just saying what i have to say.. no argue no nothing im just saying...

South Coast Rotary Performance, they specialize in rotary performance and own several rotary powered cars that go 10 and faster in the 1/4. They boast their special "unbreakable" apex seals.

I brought up the RB26 because it's makes the same amount of horsepower and but more torque than the 13b. I'm not changing no subjects, I'm stating that the rotary is a high revving engine and that's the only way it makes power.

You were trying to tell everyone here that the 787b is the fastest car (or fastest Le Mans prototype) in the world. In reality, the Audi R10 is the fastest LMP. If you're going to bring up advances in technology blah blah, this that. The Chaparral 2D racecar was a demon in it's era as well as almost every other Chaparral car.

well i guess i'll give up and let you win then... because it sounds like your getting really into it... cause im not trying to start anything especially when some people have short temper and over react but yea.... thats it... end of topic...
