My favorite anime is a close call between The Pet Girl of Sakurasou, SAO, and Baccano. All of them have great stories and definitely are original imo.

I first got into anime back when I was 6. My brother brought home Fatal Fury from blockbuster on VHS and I fell in love with the anime.
My favorite will always be Yu Yu Hakusho. I mean I watched Sailor Moon, Dragonball when I was younger too.
However, Yu Yu Hakusho was the first anime that I purchased on my own through Suncoast back before they closed suncoast.
I just finished SAO (Sword Art Online) it's one of my faves too. Along with Soul Eater, Fairytale, Kenshin, Kyo Kara Myou was another one.

My favourites are:
Bleach: I started watching it in December last year and finished it January 8th this year. It's my favourite because it is the anime that got me back into anime and I simply enjoyed all of it.. In fact i became so obsessed (and still am) that I have seen the movies and even seen the live Bankai Cody 003 on youtube and I am currently trying to find the others. On top of that I also plan to cosplay as Rangiku at my next con.
Peacemaker Kurogane: I am obsessed with fuedal Japan and this anime is set in that era.

Clannad and Clannad: After Story
this anime was really special, the characters were all loveable and you really cared for them, it felt like you was growing up with them throughout the series. Also there are moments in this anime that you can relate to real life situations.
ive cried many times of sadness/happy moments in this anime

Gintama is my all-time favorite anime (next to DBZ and DB), mostly because of the slightly twisted and vaguely disgusting humor! Also love the fact that it's a pretty distorted kind of world, mixed with futuristic spaceships that look like supped up vehicles from the past, and traditional Japanese clothes mixed with present styles of dress. My next favorite would be Arakawa Under the Bridge, totally hilarious and weird.
I've recently started watching (and enjoying immensely) Cuticle Detective Inaba, also mostly because of the odd humor and crazed characters.

I must admit I have a lot of animes that I enjoyed watching. Naruto, Bleach, Air Gear, Dragonball, Drangonball Z, Kenshin, Heroic Age, Angel Beats, Demon King Daimao, Chrome Shelled Regios, Sword Art Online, Gintama, Blue Exorcist, Saint Seiya The Lost Canvas, and quite a few more that I can't remember off the top of my head I'm sure. Currently I've been watching Moribito, Maoyu, and running back through bleach. Have seen to many animes that have caught my eye this current season. One I'm curious about would be aoi-sekai-no-chushin-de, I enjoyed the two episodes that were able to be watched, curious as to when episode 3 is going to be aired.

on a side note, I've love what's been going on with DBZ Abridged and it's what brought me back to watching anime again

im kinda on 2 different ends of the spectrum. I started out as a DBZ sailor moon card capturs tenchi muyo watcher when i was younger. I thought anime was suppose to be long which i liked because i had something to look forward to. Naturally I bacame attracted to bleach and naruto. Now im getting into your 12-26 ep. anime. I liked ergo proxy elfien full metal al soul eater, and now recently blue exorcist darker than black and hakuouki to name a few. samurai 7 and samurai champloo are good too. i like historical/fantasy anime.
I just wish that certain shows continued. I love animation so even though a lot of them continue through manga id rather see them fully animated.

I have only seen the first few episodes myself, but it was okay from what I saw.
Also Steins;Gate, best anime ever.
