I think that buying a DS is a much better choice. It's cheaper, and the games for it are just more fun. I would make an exception if you knew how to hack a PSP. I think they'd be more equal in that case. But I'd still go with a DS.

ahh.. i am about to buy either one...which dou u think is better?

I think that one of the main things that should determine your decision is the games. If you plan on playing Super Mario Bros, The World Ends With You, Advance Wars, etc... then obviously you'd go with the DS.

If you want to play games like Metal Gear Port Ops, FFVII Crisis Core, and GOW Chains of Olympus, then pick the PSP.

Also, if price is an issue, you generally get things cheaper with the DS. It's a pretty tough decision, but I have both, and I play the DS more than the PSP. I only recently pulled my PSP out for Crisis Core.

i hear about downgrading the PSP to be able to play homebrews.. What does that mean?

Although not necessarily legal, to downgrade a PSP means to bring the firmware of the PSP down to a version that can be hacked. Homebrews are a term used to describe either programs or games that can be played on a hacked PSP.

i see.. so does that, in any way, harm the psp?

If you know what you're doing, it won't harm your PSP. There is the potential for your PSP to be "bricked" meaning it'll be incapable of doing much of anything. But there are always solutions for that problem too.

so where do u actually get these homebrews? i mean what site?
and what are the propper things to do to avoid bricking psp?

Well I'm not really sure exactly, but you could probably start a search on google to really get into a website that's more knowledgeable about hacking. I just did a search, and there's a few good websites there. So if you do decide to go the way of the PSP, I think there are tons of forums and hackers that could help you better.

oh. ok..thanks.. just a last q, what prive ranges do DSL games fall on?

Anywhere from $20 to $40. And I know we've been talking for a while, so I hope I helped you figure things out a little bit. Good luck on your decision.

I think it's a tie between the Psp and DS.
Choose the company you like better.

or the one with games you like better.

I personally choose DS :3
