I'm not meaning a robot who looks like an OBVIOUS robot. I mean like a 'human' who's secretly a robot and you bought him. Would you agree to have a robot as a boyfriend or even a lifetime mate?

Think about it, single people of today's society often complain because their getting irritant of the certain qualities of their 'boyfriend' or 'girlfriend'. Wouldn't you want to format each and every quality, pet peeve, turn-ons, turn-offs, etc of the robot to fit your interests? You can even change their appearance from their build to their face! Basically, the robot will be just like a human except it'll simply need to recharge once in a while.

Honestly, I would be up for it. Heck, I'll probably even marry the robot!

Edit: Ok, it seems that nobody gets what I'm trying to say. The robot is EXACTLY like a human except it recharges once in a while. You get to set the settings according to YOUR preferences, whether you would want someone who knows how to fight or not, or someone who's smart or not, it's all up to you. You can even add imperfections and everything if that's what fulfills your pleasure. AND the robot looks EXACTLY LIKE A HUMAN!!

For those who are wondering, I got this idea from the drama and manga Absolute Boyfriend, so if you've watched it or have come across it then you know what I mean.

so what's the point of loving a non-living thing ~_~

even if you loved it. . . do you know that he really loves you?

Robots can't adapt human feelings unless that it's programmed to.
Then again, every program is only limited to a few emotions which you can install. Therefore, Robots can't REALLY love.

Beside, robots cant carry your genes into the next generation.....

yea dude. I tell my robot girlfriend i love her all the time.
she gets jelous when i'm near the washing machine or the lawn mower for some reason though

jk

umm i'm kind of in dillema in this one.

Yes, i would like my girlfriend to be perfect. But sometimes imperfection can be attractive though.
Like.. it's the unpredictability of someone's personality that charms you away, you know?

Humans are interesting. Programming - creating false experiences, secrets, flaws, talents .. seems so ... yuck to me. I feel less human without human contact.

well it's kinda cool, but when you think of it, human are still the best, yes!,we are not perfect, but at some instances imperfections make the relationship stronger. We have a heart, soul that can touch other's feelings in an extraordinary way, unlike in robots you are the one who will decide on how they will be, anything that'll happen are going to be predictable..like what i've said its cool but having a robot boyfriend/girlfriend is just temporary.

read the manga of absolute boyfriend and you'll get what i mean..

If it's a cyber-babe, then yes.

Remember the Britney Spears robot in Austin Powers 2 with the machine guns coming out of where her tits are supposed to be? Yeah.

If the robot has the emotions of a human being then why not.
