lol i smell a 'God' debate

Conclusion with no reason? I'm amazed how you can jump from one topic to another, and how touchy and dellusional you are.

touchy in what way

lol ok, u seem like an angry person, i'll just leave you alone.

I was, indeed. And nonsensical remarks just made it worse. Thanks for leaving me alone.

Here is an interesting conversation.

"None. They're mere fictions and products of imagination. Basically, unworthy to be idolized."

This statement shows that the writer either does not see a reason why fictitious characters should be idolized or does not understand that an idol is a character with traits you admire. This comment, being a good launching point for a debate on the nature of reality spawned the amused response:

"lol i smell a 'God' debate"

The logic being that many people seek to make themselves more "godly" and it is a hot debate in some circles if God exists.

The conversation breaks down at "Conclusion with no reason? I'm amazed how you can jump from one topic to another, and how touchy and delusional you are."

Where the subject of the conversation was not explored but rather the character of the poster was attacked. There were many well thought out replies in there, and rather than expanding upon a thought it was set upon by angry claws.

And here I am, someone new to this forum, aghast at the verbal carnage before me.

Firstly, "Idolization" is a strong word. It means to admire and respect deeply.
Indeed, an idol is a character with traits you admire. However, the keyword here is "with". Fiction itself is imagination, meaning, it does not exist - it is made up. When something does not exist in the first place, it cannot possess anything. Thus, it cannot possess these traits that you speak of.

Secondly, I , and many people do NOT seek to be more "godly". That would be a blasphemy. I, WE, are no saints, much less any "god"; please do not jump into conclusions.
The comment "I smell a "God debate" itself was made based on no contextual referencing. That is, having no proof of my previous comment referring to anything religious. Therefore, it was an illogical remark, a fallacy in fact.

Thus, leading me to be annoyed of how unreasonable and irresponsible the author was. Misinterpreting and reading in between the lines, with no proof, reason, or any explanation don't bring up an argument at all. Thus, my "attack" on the poster. (This "attack" is actually shedding some light upon people who write down thoughtless remark).

Lastly, I welcome you to this forum. I'm quite happy to see someone who actually thinks while typing down his/her comments - that itself makes this place more worthwhile. And yes, the security of anonymity can bring forth people's ugly sides / idiocity sometimes, so beware.
