watched my sassy girl the year it was released and again i watched it just awhile ago and til now i cant stop thinking about it. i was really about to cry when the girl was saying sorry at the mountains when the guy cant even hear her... so for me i think that the original is really the best... both the guy and girl are really a match and they are really for that roles

i even got sort of irritated when i saw the trailer of the American version....

Wow the American one looks TERRIBLE! They totally ruin the slapping scene on the subway. I rather they just copy everything scene by scene.

I didn't know there was a Japanese version...I'll probably watch it.

I think the Korean version is excellent...it's the one that got me hooked into asian dramas and got me singing I Believe.

I saw the preview for the English version...I don't like the actor and actresses...probably won't see it. Also, there's something about Japanese, Korean, and Chinese girls that make them fit for these drama roles. They have that very innocent look that you just fall in love with....and it sucks when they have to die in the movies.

the il mare hollywood remake was not bad, so maybe the sassy girl will not be bad either.

i think why people think the hollywood remakes "butchered" the original story is that before seeing the new versions, they were thinking of the story as only appropriate in korean setting. now that wouldn't do in american versions or any other versions for that matter, would it? (wouldn't it be wierder if the american characters drink soju and piggyback their fellow characters when drunk hehe.) plus their minds are already set against the remake even before it's shown so the hollywood versions do not stand a chance to be acceptable already.

just be open-minded about movies in general, people. you might like them if you just let go of your prejudgments and bias. but do not expect them to be the same as the originals also as that would be just.. well, boring.

The Hollywood one looks pretty good, but I doubt it'll be as good as the original one. However, I'll keep an open mind.

Original is always the best, but I'm open to see remakes just as long as the story is still mostly the same with a little something new to the table. Plus, the American remake is going to be straight-to DVD which is good cuz a lot of people would want to see it just to compare but noone would have watched it for $10 in the theatres, it's not worth it. Now, they can just rent it.
