NANA the movie or NANA the anime. Because the movie was amazing; never did get around to watching the anime.

Fun fact: I actually got into listening to the singer Ito Yuna because of that movie lol..

Old animes are a disgrace, it's just like music from 2009 and down: HORRIBLE

Wow you can really see generational gaps among posts. Do people really consider Nadesco, Getbackers, and Chrono Crusade old? I remember waiting for their releases only 10 years or so ago.

If we're gonna go really old school: Macross, Megazone 23, Arcadia of My Youth, Getter Robo, Original Gundam, Dunbine, Yamato, Bubble Gum Crisis, Lupin the 3rd, and of course Gatchaman.

i agree on the "OBJECTION!!" karmacide. who doesn't like some old anime shows (Cowboy Bebop, Sailor Moon, the ORIGINAL Pokemon and the ORIGINAL Yu-Gi-Oh!) ?? i like watching most of the anime stuff i grew up watching, let alone some of the anime books that really got me hooked on it my freshman year in high school...

Of course, who doesn't love some nostalgia. Dragonball, Like you said, Cowboy Bebop, and the original Pokemon was huge when I was a kid. I remember at recess just about everyone would bring their gameboy to school and trade / battle pokemon. (Red and Blue of course.) I remember the first time I saw Yu-Gi-Oh! on tv I couldn't stop laughing because I didn't know what it was and it just seemed like a really dramatic version of magic the gathering. It's fun to watch some of the older stuff I watched before I even knew what anime was.

yea, i was 10 when Pokemon came out and was a HUGE fan of it.. i swear, i was able to tell you every Pokemon (in order) and i would spend COUNTLESS hours on my gameboy playing the Red Version and collecting the cards (i had a tin box FULL of them)... isn't it funny how we saw anime back when we were kids and didn't even know it?? i used to watch Sailor Moon and never even KNEW it was anime (let alone what anime was! i didn't know about anime until my freshman yr)

Yeah, it used to be they were all just cartoons. I remember the first time someone corrected me and said 'it's not a cartoon, it's anime' and I was like.. 'uh.. alright?.. what's an anime?..'

I love the classics. Not sure if I had already replied to this topic... I probably have, but oh well! So many pages!

Well, there's Macross, Galaxy Express 999, Space Pirate Captain Harlock, and Hokuto no Ken; to name a few of my favorites.

exactly... when i met the friend in highschool that got me really hooked on anime, she was reading one of her books and i asked her what she was reading. "Anime" she said. i think i gave her a puzzled look cause she asked, "Haven't you heard of anime?" i of course said no and she then showed me a picture she drew that she was writing a story on and then it hit me right then and there... all this stuff i was watching and reading WAS anime! Sailor Moon, Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh!... i was like "WOW..." she the let me read the several books of Jing: King of Bandits that she had and i was instantly hooked... after that she let me borrow a book that taught you how to draw anime and i've LOVED it ever since

Ahhh man, nostalgia~ I was only 2 when Pokemon released in the US, but I loved it so~ In my later years of elementary school, though, Pokemon was getting old and I was considered "weird" for liking it. Everyone was more into Yu-Gi-Oh :/ I was also one of those out-of-the-loop kids who never watched Sailor Moon... (I watched Hamtaro! XD)

As for older anime, though, I really love Cowboy Bebop, Macross Plus, NANA, and Serial Experiments: Lain, along with a lot of older Ghibli movies. I haven't watched much things older then late-90s, unfortunately - they aren't too easy to come by on the internet (in a decent quality, that is).Oh, wait! I have seen a few eps of Kimba the White Lion! XD

I will say that I seemto know a lot more older anime or 'underground' anime than my friends, though. With them it's all about Naruto or One Piece or some other comparative mainstream show. Probably because they only watch things in English dubs :/ Makes me feel like an outsider... Even though I was introduced to anime by them (back in middle school with my friend's fail "anime club"), I now seem to be more into it than they are!

I haven't watched many older generations of anime but the most dated series I have seen is Cowboy Bebop and it wasn't half bad.
