The girl is pathetic for committing suicide over an online relationship. I mean, are you fucking kidding me?! I fail to feel the tiniest bit of pity for the girl. However, the mother that was behind the whole thing was even more pathetic. That woman needs a fucking hobby. She's a grown woman for god's sake. So what if her daughter had a falling out with the girl. Fuck off and let your daughter handle her own shit. If she can't, then, too bad. She'll get over it.

Honestly, how do people plan to "prevent" cyber-bullying? I think they should at least try to fix real-life bullying first... it hurts more.
Everyone involved in this story is pathetic and should get a life. I mean, I spend most of my time on the Internet, but I would NEVER do that... because I'm also a smart person.
I had this one online "relationship" with this jackass... he was messaging a billion other girls at the same time. I didn't go all emo because of that. I just accepted that he was a gay jerk and moved on... Jeez, why can't other people do that?

i agree that she didn't have to resort to killing herself, but at the same time, people handle emotional stress differently than others. some people take things harder or more serious than others...

i'm sure there were other reasons as to why she killed herself, it's just that this situation probably played a big role in her suicide, not to mention getting in a fight with her parents before she decided to kill herself. look, she's a young girl and probably was a bit on the naive side to fall for someone who she doesn't know at all, so for someone to act like they liked her and tell her that they didn't like her probably hit her pretty hard.

what that lady did was a terrible thing, all just because that girl and her daughter weren't friends anymore and the girl was supposedly saying stuff about the woman's daughter. how shallow can you get?? just talk to the girl and her parents or better yet, just forget about the girl and move on! now this woman's family has to face the consequences of her actions as well...

i know myspace is bad. but this is just outragous! i wonder how they let people continue to run that site the way it is? i dont think this is funny at all. its kind of sad actually.

You're blaming myspace for people's lack of common sense?

All myspace did was exist, it's not the creater's responsibility to make sure people aren't screwing with other people. The girl was a fucked up loser who killed herself over something so insignificant, it's the woman who did this to her who's at fault, ultimately.

Let's be clear about this: the one who did the hanging was the girl herself. We can acknowledge the power of circumstances--environment--on the individual, but there has to be a point where individuals take responsibility!

Do not be moved so much by pity for the dead girl and her family; consider this rationally. Too many people are looking at only the results of the actions when they wouldn't even consider prosecuting the woman for anything if the girl hadn't killed herself. Similarly, where do we draw the line between what is legal and what is illegal in these cases? Should anyone who insults another go to court over it? I don't think so, and it doesn't matter whether the other person kills himself or not.

It's the very lack of a notion of personal responsibility that leads to the sort dependency on the environment that caused this.

Just read the Josh news this morning. Is it really the woman who is posing as Josh fault? I dont think so. The girl was pretty stupid to take things so literal.
