^ love that!

here's one i wrote not too long ago (dumb title i know):

prodigal emotions

no more of a chemical
though legal it may be
is stopping these emotions
from forming inside me

so used to the numbness
this change is hard to take
and good ways to express these
are just so hard to make

no appreciation for life
no deeper fear of dying
no tolerance for others' weakness
no relief in crying

no tears stirred within me
no reason to dispair
the only "feeling" was exhaustion
when things seemed too much to bare

only frustration came about
when watching others cry
i see no point in dehydration
i just don't understand why

why get so nervous you don't want to eat
why worry about things you can't control
why bother to consider others' sensitivities
but now new thoughts have entered my soul

"now how could i
have hardly cared
or been so blind
i was barely scared"?

"how did i fail
to cherish life
or to look earnestly
for something besides a knife"?

"how could i ever have been so numb
that i wanted this world to so violently end
how could i have missed all the voices that answered
when i called out for help from a friend"?

looking back now
i'm so glad i'm still here
i'm so thankful for the sadness
the frustration and the fear

i'm so happy things have changed
and that i can finally feel
but these emotions are so strange
it seems like they shouldn't be real

now that my heart has awoken
i'm facing things i haven't before
i've turned somewhat bitter
and hate these emotions even more

i know it's healthy to cry sometimes
some physiological effect
but still i resent the "dust in my eyes"
because "weakness" is a hard word to forget

i have not allowed the tears to fall
though sometimes sobs still come
the worries i've seen other people have
are also appearing one by one

i can't stand these feelings
sure the pills took anxiety away
but they also deadened most of my emotions
but now they're back and want to stay

apparently they're "normal"
for a teenage girl's brain
but with the excitement comes resentment
which do i prefer: numbness or pain?

Well here's my story! I'll only post a few chapters because it's too long to post all of it!I hope you enjoy it!

Nalani:
The Legendary Ezekiel
Prologue
This is the story of a war torn world of Ezekiel. Battle after battle the world grew of greed and fear. There was never peace in Ezekiel. There were seven different nations: Water, Fire, Thunder, Wind, Tierra, Light and Shadow. The ones that fought the most were the Light and Shadow clans. The leaders of the Shadow clan were selfish and ruthless. They wanted more land and power and fought anyone who got in their way.
The Light clan and their allies defeated the Shadow clan in a fierce battle in Gamaliel. Lucius, the leader of the Light clan personally handled Marius, the most feared Shadow ruler of all time. After that there were fewer battles, but peace was never fully restored.
Three centuries later after the victory in Gamaliel, there is still mutiny. A group who called themselves “Maura” has secretly made plans for an uprising and tries to restore the power that the Shadow clan abandoned.
Now a wise leader in the Shadow clan has restored some order to his nation and has kept his people away from the world and its problems. He hates the past and wants to amend and build a better future; his name: Ambrose Xavier. He has achieved some peace with the other nations and promised to help keep the peace. But Maura has other plans, and soon chaos will consume Ezekiel again, but there is one that will stop Maura and help restore peace.
A prophecy that was made in the reign of Marius said,
“When the first signs of spring have come to appear, a child will be born of both light and dark. Whoever takes hold of this child can use it and tip the scale for victory or defeat…”
And ends there. No one found out the rest. Rumors say Marius hid the other half of the tablet to not decrease his soldier’s morale. Others say the one who foretold this took the other half to save it as a test for the one who would be to find out for them self.
I never really knew about it until I met the person who supposedly was the so-called, “weapon.” She is my best friend. She had been through a lot when she herself realized that she could make a difference and stop Maura from completing their plots. She grew strong and wise when the time came to end the chaos, but she wasn’t always like that.

Chapter 1

“Nalani!” She looked at the man who was trying to save her life. His right eye was swollen and bleeding, his face was pale but you could see a burning passion. “NO!” He yelled and grabbed her before she was burnt to a crisp by an oncoming fireball.
“Where are you two going now?! You have no place to go but at the bottom of the river!” A tall man with red orange eyes burning with fury was coming after them.
Nalani grabbed her abdomen and whispered in agony, “That’s our escape plan…the cliff…” she was weak from the injuries she sustained from the hands of the maniac. The young man too sustained a very serious wound in his chest that labored his breathing.
“Wait! That’s nonsense! You’re going to get yourself killed! I won’t let you!” He begged her.
“But it’s our only way…” she said weakly and collapsed, but the man caught her and they both stared at each other.
Just then the maniac caught up to them, “Isn’t this a sight, I get to kill the both of you with one shot!” And he shoots a fireball at them.
******
“Ahh…” Nalani woke up with sweat and pain. She rubs her head and brushes her long pale blue hair from her face. She sighs and went to the bathroom to wash up. She looks in the mirror and saw her tired silver eyes and thought to herself, “Why can’t I remember the rest? What must I do to remember my past?” A young woman then knocked at the door. “Come in!”
A fair tanned young woman enters the room, “Are you alright? I heard you yell!” she asked.
Nalani sighs and rubs her nose, “I’m fine, Eva.”
Eva looked at her in concern, “You’re not sick are you?”
Nalani walked back to her bed, “No, I just had a bad dream, that’s all.”
Eva walks up to her, “Is it the same one again?”
Nalani nodded, “Yes…I can’t stop thinking about it. I try to think of something else, but that scene always comes to my mind.”
Eva urges her, “Well, maybe you should start taking that ‘vacation’.”
Nalani looked at her, “Traveling town to town trying to put the puzzle together AND trying to avoid the maniac or his buddies? Oh, yeah…like I want that!”
Eva tries to assure her, “That’s why there are disguises.”
Nalani sat down on her bed, “Still…I don’t think I’m ready yet.” Then bends over and rubs her head again.
Eva, “You’re scared, aren’t you?”
Nalani looks up at her, “I’m not…scared,” and then looks away, “it’s just…”
Eva, “Then why don’t you go then? It’s better than staying here and getting sick over it!”
Nalani just looks at her, “What about you guys?”
Eva assured her, “We’ll be fine! We were well without you before! With or without you, we’ll do fine!”
Nalani looked at her with an unwanted look, “If you want to get rid of me just say it!”
Eva apologizes, “No! It’s not like that! It’s just…”
Nalani interrupts her and chuckles, “It was a joke Eva! I’m just foolin’ with you!”
Eva relaxes and sighs, “Oh…”
Nalani lies down on her bed, “I guess I’ll leave tomorrow night then.”
Eva looked at her with curiosity, “Why at night?”
Nalani, “Like you said, to ‘disguise’ myself.”
Eva, “Clever, but just one thing…”
Nalani, “Hmm…”
Eva, “How are you going to recognize anything in the dark of night?”
Nalani, “I’ll find my way…somehow.”
Eva, “Okay, just be careful then.”
Nalani assures her, “I will.”
Later the next morning Nalani prepared her supplies for the journey. “Hmm…I need an outfit for my disguise.” She looked around the room. “Hmm…” then she walked to Eva’s room and knocked her door, “Eva?”
Eva opened the door, “Yes, what is it?” And went back to fixing her bed.
Nalani walks into the room, “Do you have anything black for me to wear? And something that can protect me, like a bullet proof vest?”
Eva smiles and says, “You’re lucky that we used to make outfits for the G.S. (Guardia Squad).” She walks across the room to her closet and separates her clothes and behind them was a small vault.
Nalani asks, “How long have you guys been making uniforms for the G.S.?”
Eva explains, “We’ve been with the G.S. for almost five years…but that was twelve years ago when the two leaders disappeared.” She opens the vault and inside were a few clothes, some weapons and cash. All were remnants of the past. Eva pulls out a feminine vest and some other clothing. “Here.” She hands it over to Nalani. “Don’t worry! It’s bullet proof, and it’s light weight too!” She takes the straps off. “See! Also…the extra feature of our clothing is it’s not always the same as the other uniforms. We try to vary them so the enemy wouldn’t easily recognize us. I’m sure you can go unnoticed.”
Nalani shakes her head, “Nice. Only one problem.”
Eva asks, “What?”
Nalani looks at her then the vest, “They’re gray!”
Eva tries to assure her, “Oh…well we can fix that! Go buy some black and navy blue dye. The good type not the cheap stuff or it will wear out soon.”
Nalani asks, “You don’t have any?”
Eva apologizes and says, “Nope, sorry.”
Nalani, “Great. Okay, I’ll go get some.” She walks out of the room and out the door. She walks down a dirt path through some pine trees and down a hill. She passes by some houses and entered the market center. “Hmm…which store…” She looks around and saw many wonderful things for sale, but not what she was looking for.
She overheard a merchant talk to a businessman, “Technology is the best friend man can ever have when it comes to business. But seeing how Maura is spreading fear it’s pointless to use it much or else things can get worse! A lot worse!”
The Businessman sadly agrees and says, “If only things could get back the way they should then everyone can be at peace.”
The Merchant looks at his merchandise and says, “Yeah, but as long as Maura is around no one can be at peace.”
The Businessman looks at the police department across the street and says, “Why won’t the governments do something?”
The Merchant tries to explain, “Every time they get close to solving a case it’s like they disappear and cause grief somewhere else. It’s like a disease you can never cure.”
Nalani walks away and passes by some stores, “Debbie’s Taylor…Small shack…maybe here, Grand Art Store!” She entered the store and looked around some aisles. “Where is it?” She asks an employee, “Excuse me, but, where are the dyes?”
The kind employee said, “They’re in aisle eight, they’ll be on your left.”
Nalani, “Thank you!”
Employee, “Your welcome.”
After Nalani paid for the dye, she noticed something strange happening outside. She left the store and sees a small crowd around a drunken man causing trouble with Mariela (a friend of Eva and her brother).
Mariela was disgusted and embarrassed, “Leave me alone you pervert!”
Nalani walks through the crowd and went beside Mariela, “What’s going on here?”
Mariela was relieved to see her, “This old pervert was bothering these young girls. I came to help, but now I need the rescuing!”
The Pervert drank some beer and says, “Oh, come on love! I was only having a bit of fun.” His eyes were blood shot and his breath smelled heavily of alcohol.
Nalani says without looking at the man, “I suggest you leave before you get hurt.”
Pervert looked at her and asks,“A girl with spunk…hiccup…I like that, and who might you be?”
Nalani sternly commanded him, “Leave! Now!”
Pervert walks up to her and put his hand on her shoulder. “How about a little game before I go!...Let’s play…hiccup…”
Nalani pushes his hand off, “I warned you!” she hands her bag to Mariela, “Hold this, please.”
Mariela said with concern, “But you don’t know how to fight!”
Nalani coolly said, “I don’t have too.”
The drunk pervert chuckled as he drank some more beer. Nalani waits for him to make the first move. “Here I come!” He sluggishly charges toward her, but she dodges it. Surprisingly though he made an upper cut but she dodges it by inches. “Very nice…but…hiccup…let’s see you try that again.” As the two were fighting a small crowd gathered around them enjoying the side show. The drunk groans as he tries to get Nalani down. He drank the rest of his beer and smashes the bottle. “Stand still! Argh…” He jabs the broken bottle trying to cut Nalani but she hit his hand making him drop it. Angry he threw a punch, Nalani dodges it but this time it was followed by a high kick and she barely blocks it with her arms and was pushed back by the force of the impact.
Nalani said to herself, “That was close.” She backs up to the big barrels of beer. “Great, more beer.”
Pervert, “Well it’s been fun…hiccup…but it’s time to end it. ARGH!” He charged at her like an angry bull.
Mariela looked terrified, “Nalani! NO!”
Seconds before he was about to hit her, Nalani jumps in the air and pushes off his back and lands safely away from harm. The old man went crashing into the barrel and was knocked out. Minutes later the chief policeman came up to Nalani and asked what happened. Mariela explains to the chief the situation.
Chief, “Well then, I guess you’ve done well. I’ll take him into custody then send him back where he came from.”
Nalani asks disappointingly, “You’re setting him free?”
Chief apologizes and says, “Unless he raped somebody I can’t really arrest him. But his misdeeds will be reported and he will be advised to never come to this town again.”
Mariela, “Thank you, chief.”
Chief, “I’ll be off now. Thanks again!” He then left with the unconscious drunk for questioning.
Mariela then looked at Nalani and says with enthusiasm, “I didn’t know you could fight!”
Nalani explains, “That wasn’t fighting! That was…dodging.”
Mariela, “Whatever it was it was amazing! Where did you learn that?”
Nalani dusted herself, “Bag, please.” Mariela hands her the bag. “Thank you. I don’t really know. It was like instinct, you know.”
Mariela, “So your mind is lost, but your body is not?”
Nalani, “Humph…I guess.”

Chap. 2

Eva was in the backyard near the clothesline. She felt them to check if the cloak and the vest were dry yet. “It’s still a bit damp, and the sun is starting to set.” The sun starts to set between two distant blue mountains. “It’s starting to get chilly. I’d better put these in the dryer for a bit.” She grabs them and goes inside. As she heads inside Nalani bumps into her. Nalani apologizes, “Oh, sorry.”
Eva, “That’s okay.”
Nalani looks at the pile of clothes she had, “I was about to check them. You didn’t have to…”
Eva assures her, “It’s fine, besides I needed to get the table cloths back inside. Also they’re still wet.” They walk into the laundry room.
Eva then starts to recall about the incident that happened earlier. “I heard you helped Mariela.”
Nalani gloomily replies, “Yeah…” she seemed to be concentrating on something else.
Eva, “A drunk pervert was it?”
Nalani snaps out of it, “An old drunk pervert! I didn’t do much, I only played around with him a bit.”
Eva, “So I heard. So are you starting to remember now?”
Nalani explains, “That was just instinct, I don’t remember anything about how to do that.”
Eva smiles and says, “I have a feeling that you’ll learn your past very soon.”
Nalani looks out the window, “I hope so.”
Eva then remembers something. “Oh, my brother was looking for you!”
Nalani asks, “For what?”
Eva replies, “I don’t know…” the dryer beeps. “They’re done!”
Eva opened the door and Nalani took out the clothes. Nalani then straightens them out and notices an extra item. She looks at Eva, “What’s this?”
Eva chuckles, “A mask! You said you were going to be sneaky! So, how about a mask to go along with your outfit?” The mask only covers half the face and it was also made of the same material as the vest. “Also…I think this would come in handy so you won’t look too suspicious.” She hands Nalani a black wig and pair of some stylish black sunglasses.
Nalani grins, “Thanks! I could wear this in the day.”
Eva smiles, “Yep.”
Nalani then looks at her and asks for a favor. “There’s one more thing I want you to do for me.”
Eva looked at her, “What?”
Nalani, “A haircut.”
Eva looks at her surprised, “A haircut?!”
Nalani explains, “Yes. I want my hair to be up to my shoulder.”
Eva was shocked, “That short?!”
Nalani, “Well it will be a lot easier to handle.”
Eva then tries to persuade, “But you have beautiful hair! Why…”
Nalani, “Oh, come on! It’s not like it’s going to stay short forever!” And she hands Eva some scissors. “Please.”
Eva then reluctantly gives in. “Okay. I’ll cut your hair.” Nalani pulls up a chair and Eva asks, “Is there a certain style that you want?”
Nalani thought for a moment, “No, not really.”
Eva looked at Nalani’s hair, “Hmm…I know what style that will be perfect for you!” And she went to work. Fifteen minutes later she was finished. “Voila! It’s done!” She hands Nalani a mirror, “Well? How do you like it?”
Nalani looks in the mirror, “Hmm…not bad! Ever thought of being a hair dresser?”
Eva, “Huh, never thought of that.”
Nalani thanks her. “Well, thank you for the haircut. How much for it?”
Eva chuckled, “Nothing…yet.”
Nalani, “Okay, thanks. I’m gonna get ready now.”
Eva, “Okay.”
An hour later Nalani went to the living room where Eva and Mariela were waiting.
Mariela then asks her, “Why didn’t you tell me you were leaving?”
Nalani scratches her head and says, “Yeah, I know short notice. But…”
Eva explains to Mariela, “She already planned this, she just didn’t know when.”
Mariela hands Nalani a small blue box. “It’s some money that we all put in.”
Nalani thanks them, “Thank you.”
Eva gave her a small wooden box decorated with flowers. “They’re herbs for injuries or poison. Don’t forget which are which, okay.”
Nalani chuckles, “I know, I know. Thank you. You people have helped me a lot. I’m sorry for the year of trouble I’ve caused you.”
Mariela assures her, “You were never any trouble. You are a reminder that God exists, and that he has a plan for all of us. Remember that. You are a miracle.”
Eva agrees with her, “She’s right, there’s a reason why you’re still here. Don’t put yourself down all the time. You need to appreciate the life that God gave you. And maybe very soon it will all become clear.”
Nalani looks at them with hope in her eyes, “Thank you.” And gave them a hug, “Bye…”
Eva and Mariela, “Bye!”
Eva, “Don’t be a stranger! Come by when you’re at a loss or if you have your memory back.”
Nalani, “I will.” And walks out the door. She walks down the porch stairs and looks up at the sky. “A crescent moon. Hmm…”
A voice from behind calls out to her. “Nalani.”
She turns around and sees a man sitting in a chair. “Amir! What are you doing out here? I thought you were closing up the shop.”
Amir explains, “I was, but I needed to talk to you before you left.”
Nalani, “So your sister told me. What is it?”
Amir, “Come with me…” They went to the garage and he uncovers an exclusive black motorcycle. “It’s light weight, it’s fast and silent. Perfect for your travels.” Nalani was amazed, “Where did you get it?”
Amir, “It was my fathers. It was his when he was in the G.S.”
Nalani asks, “Was he captured as well?”
Amir, “No…he died trying to rescue the two leaders, but he and a few others failed.”
Nalani apologizes, “I’m sorry to hear that.”
Amir, “It’s all in the past…there’s nothing to be apologizing for.”
Nalani looks at the bike and changes the subject. “Well this is an awesome looking bike.” Then looks at him, “Are you lending it or…”
Amir grins, “Giving it away. It’s taking too much space.”
Nalani smiles and thanks him, “Thank you, for everything. I’ll take good care of it.”
Amir then looks at her with a stern look, “Well then…I guess I’ll see you soon?”
Nalani shakes hands, “Yeah.” She mounts onto the bike and starts it. She hears a quiet purr, “Hmm…It really is quiet.” She puts the helmet on and before she left she tells Amir something. “Hey, Amir!”
Amir, “Yeah?”
Nalani grins and says, “Don’t make the wedding without me.”
Amir blushes, “But I haven’t proposed yet!”
Nalani smiles and says, “Don’t worry! She’ll say yes! Bye…for now!” And drives down the path to find her lost memories.
Eva and Mariela join Amir in the garage.
Eva, “Well, she’s gone.”
Amir, “Yeah.”
Mariela was beginning to get teary. “I hope she’ll be okay.”
Amir puts his arm around her, “Don’t worry, she’s strong and God is with her. He has plans for her.” They all agree. “Genoveva…Mariela…We must be strong and pray for a safe journey…for all of us!”

Chap. 3

“I’ve been traveling for three days now! And nothing seems to ring a bell! Am I going the wrong way or something?!” Nalani says in frustration. She slowly drove through a small town and drove by a street market. She looks at the merchandise and saw maps for sale. “Well this will come in handy.” She asks the salesmen the price for the maps.
Salesman replies, “It’s eight colónes.” Nalani pays the man, “Thank you.”
Nalani replies, “Thank you.” She observes the map. “Hmm…Fresco town is here and I’m in Reston…”she notices a river on the map. “They’ve told me I was found near two river mouths, in Fresco Bay. Lourdes River…and…Azariah river…which one should I follow?” She notices the length of Lourdes river. “That river comes from the mountains of Luz, which is northwest of here. Azariah River…runs from the northeast…I guess I’ll go northeast.” She starts her bike again and heads northeast.
By sunset she turned in to the Sterling Inn. She checks into room 106 and went to bed, taking off her wig and glasses. “I’ll sleep for a couple of hours then head towards Rio City…yawn…” then rests for a few hours.
She dreamt about the same dream except this time she heard herself say, “Cassius” to the maniac and wakes up in a cold sweat again. She breathes rapidly and takes a deep breath to calm down. “So that’s his name…” she sits up and puts her hand on her fore head. “Cassius…I wonder if he’s still alive for me to pay a little visit.” She puts her wig and black sunglasses back on then pays at the front desk and leaves for Rio City.
“Man! It’s been a week and I still haven’t got to Rio City yet! Maybe I’ve been sleeping too much. Hmm…I should be there by tomorrow though.” It’s a little past midnight and before she gets to Rio City she hears screaming and people running away from one of the bridges surrounding the city. She pulls over and hides in the shadows of the trees. “What’s going on?”
People scream, “Run! It’s the Maura! Run!”
Nalani remembers, “Hmm…that’s the group that those merchants were talking about in Fresco…I guess I’ll go around the city then.” While she carefully drives around the city she hears a familiar voice.
The voice from ahead yells, “To Mele Bridge! Hurry!”
Nalani, “That voice…” She follows the voice and parks her bike and hides. She waits behind a tree and sees a group of people following a cloaked figure.
A young girl asks the cloaked man, “How much farther, Dad?”
The Cloaked man replies, “Just a little further.” Just then suspicious looking groups were running towards them. The leader of the other group yells at them, “After them! They must be turned in for questioning!”
The Cloaked man commands the group to leave him, “RUN! Now! Quickly!” He stays behind to buy the others some time. But three refused and stayed with him.
A young boy who looked like the young girl yells to the cloaked man, “Wait! Dad!”
A woman pulls at the boys arm and says, “We have to go!”
The Cloaked man tells them, “Listen to your mother! I’ll be fine, go!”
The young girl refuses to leave. “But dad!” The mother grabs the teen’s hands.
The cloaked man punches the guy next to him, “GO!” They obey and they catch up to the group up ahead.
Nalani watches as the father battle the six men with no sign of weakness. “Wow…” she then hears screams from ahead.
Cloaked man, “NO!” He tries to run towards the bridge but the men kept coming at him.
Nalani decides to help and heads toward the bridge on her bike. She saw the long steel bridge and notices the group in trouble with the same gang clothed in black. She rushes towards them and saw the family in trouble. The mother defends her children using some wind attacks but only made minimal damage. Some of the group got away to safety, and the others fought for their freedom. Nalani sped up and did a wheelie knocking out two of the thugs.
One gang member yells out, “What the?”
Several of the men ran up to her with metal clubs. Nalani parks her bike and mounts off and waits for the men to make their move. One of the thugs swung the club at her, but she dodges it and grabs the man’s right arm and threw him over on his back. Two other men surround her, one in front and the other behind her. They charge and swing their clubs at her. Nalani ducks and moves aside and let the two knock themselves out.
Nalani checks out the rest of the group, the mother tells the rest to run to safety. “We won’t leave you Lady Nadine!” Just then more men came.
“Great…” Nalani said with annoyance. Three men chase after the group. “GO! To the other side! NOW!” She yells to them. They didn’t hesitate and ran as fast as they could. The two teens were ahead of their mother along with two other group members. Nalani and some of the group members bought the others some time. One man charges toward Nalani, but she stops him by holding him by the shoulders and head-butts him. As he falls to the ground another three head toward her and the one in the middle looked pretty tough. “Well this doesn’t look to bad.”
The three men chuckle. The one in the middle spoke very harshly with a heavy accent, “Okay, boys…get her.”
The two charge toward her and melee her with fire slashes coming from their deadly hands. Nalani says with some distress, “Okay, now I’m in trouble.” She dodges their attacks as best she could and waits for an opportune moment. They circled her and right when they threw their hands up she grabs them and twists their hands and kicks them away. One flew over the bridge, and the other one just flew a few yards away.
The third tough man came for a piece of the action. “Okay little one. Time to take you down.” He chuckles.
Nalani, “Okay, I’m in deep trouble.” He came at her and unexpectedly threw a huge piece of the street at her. She quickly rolls away. “What the hell! He’s from the Tierra Nation!” He charges toward her like a bull and threw a wicked right hook that knocks her helmet off. She fell a few yards away in agony. “Argh…” She slowly sat up and rubs her bloody chin. Up ahead she heard some screams; she turns around and saw the teens getting captured. “Oh, no!” She quickly stood up and tries to run to them but the giant brute got in her way.
Brute, “You’ll have to defeat me to get to them.” he sneers.
Nalani was furious. “Tsch…” She charges towards him and made a high kick. He didn’t budge; it was like hitting a rock! “Huh?!” He then grabs her neck and Nalani tries to break free.
At the same time this was happening, Lady Nadine was furious because another group of men got in her way. The air around her began to swirl like a tornado and her deep blue hair swirled in the wind, Nalani watches in awe. When Lady Nadine was surrounded she unleashes her cyclone that pushes the men away for a swim in the river. Nalani notices the brute was watching the action and took this to her advantage. With all her might she kicks the brute’s arm and set herself free.
The Brute screams in agony, “Ahh! You little bastard! Me crevaste mi braso!” He knelt down and cried in agony. Nalani just fled to the other side of the bridge and notices a beat up man limping towards Lady Nadine.
The man bent his face down and his deep blue eyes were full of regret, “I’m sorry…they got away my lady.”
Lady Nadine asks the man, “William! Are you alright?”
William, “They got away! I’m sorry! They took your children and Natalie too!” with disgrace on his face.
Lady Nadine began to cry, “They took my children…my babies…”
The cloaked man caught up to them and asks, “Is everyone alright?”
Lady Nadine looks at him with sorrow, “They’re gone…”
Cloaked man, “WHAT?!”
Lady Nadine, “Maura took them away!” She sobs and threw herself in his arms. He tries to comfort her. “What are we going to do?”
Just then a man was dragging the brute and says, “Maybe this man can help us.”
William, “Jorge!”
The cloaked man stomps up to him and grabs the brute by the neck, “Where are you taking them?” He didn’t answer. The cloaked man was furious and grabs him by the collar, “WHERE ARE YOU TAKING THEM?!”
The Brute then looked up at him and says, “Nunca te voy a decir!” They heard a loud crack and black dust appears, and when it cleared the brute was gone! There was a giant hole where the brute once stood.
William looks around them and asks, “Where did he go?”
Jorge and the cloaked man look around. No luck. Lady Nadine was beginning to break down, “Now how will we find them?”
Nalani walks over to pick up her scarred helmet then quietly said, “I’ll go.”
They all look at her as if she were the enemy.
Cloaked man asks, “Who are you? And what business do you have here?”
Nalani replies, “Not to be rude, but I rather not reveal my identity. And as for my business being here, I was just passing by.” Then looks at Lady Nadine, “I’ll help you get your children back.”
William was aggravated of how she answered to the cloaked man. “YOU are a stranger! Why should we trust you? For all we know you could be working for them too!”
Jorge tries to calm him down. “Quite William! She helped us fight off those fiends; I think we can trust her.”
William, “But Jorge!”
Cloaked man interrupts them, “Quite!” Then turns to face Nalani, “Are you willing to bring back my children even though we are not acquainted?”
Nalani nods, “Yes. Just wait for me in a safe place and I will get them back for you.”
Cloaked man agrees to the terms and says, “Very well then. We’ll wait for you in Cielo City.”
Lady Nadine green eyes glowed in determination, “I’ll go with you!”
Nalani, “No! You must wait for me there. I will go alone. It will be better that way. They probably know who you are by now, we can’t risk being noticed.”
Jorge agrees, “Very true.”
The cloaked man reaches out his hand, “You have my trust.” They shake hands. “And take this with you. I see you’ve been traveling a lot.” He hands her a small sum of money.
Nalani graciously thanks him. “Thank you!”
Lady Nadine hands her a bag, “Here is some food for the journey.” Then looks up to see Nalani’s disguised face, “Please bring them back safely.”
Jorge brings her motorcycle. “I believe you’ll need this.”
Nalani, “Thank you.” She mounts her bike and starts it.
Lady Nadine stops her before she leaves. “Wait! What’s your name?”
Nalani thinks for a moment, “Just call me…Mauli.” And sped away following Maura’s tracks.
William walks up to the couple, “Are you sure we can trust her? We don’t even know what she looks like! How can we…”
The cloaked man interrupts him. “She might have her reasons why she hides her identity…as do I.”
Lady Nadine looks at him with confusion, “Leon?”
Leon, “I have a strange feeling that I know her somehow. I can’t explain it, but her voice seems familiar.”

Ha this is sooo cool! ^ ^ Well here's my piece: The Hardships of Being a Boy in a Man's World (this was my public speaking topic n tons ppl laughed) PS: This wasn't meant to offend anyone or say that women have easy, cuz they don't. Its just me looking and commenting on what i see =P

Every day of our lives, it’s engraved into our minds’ that being a woman is the harder of the two genders. We are told that being a man is easy because a) we don’t have periods, b) we don’t give birth, and c) we don’t have constant mood swings. Its just this common belief in society that men have it easy, that growing up when you’re a boy is nothing more than a walk through the park, while being a girl can sometimes be very similar to living a day in hell. Everywhere you look, you see the media fuelling this belief, despite the truth, altering the reality and perception of society. In movies, you see heroines surmounting “impossible” obstacles to reach some far off goal, while there are close to no films about little boys, turning to young gentlemen, becoming old frail men. It’s almost as though there is no interest in this because it isn’t what society believes to be true, seeing it as nothing more than time taking its toll on some soul, ignoring all the struggles and triumphs of that person. There is no such thing as an easy life, but for some reason people have got it into their heads that for men it’s a different case.
First and foremost, we have expectation to fulfill. All little boys “need” to conquer the athletic world and become world-class athletes, almost as though playing sports is like a rite of passage. We’re all suppose to like running around in the mud, tackling the lights out of each other, being rough and checking people to the ground. That is what’s expected of us from a very young age. To be the rougher of the two genders. It’s something that’s built into our minds the moment we’re born: to be a man, you need to be the strongest, you can never cry, you have to be independent, you need to know everything, you can never get lost, can’t ask for directions, etc. It’s almost as though we’re expected to be little reflections of our fathers the moment we see the hospital lights. Every time you see some little boy, he will always be trying to act in what is perceived to be a masculine way. Nonetheless, the pressure still is enormous, especially when it’s placed on our shoulders at such a young age.
Even after youth, the hardships don’t stop there. By the time we become teenagers, there is this overwhelming expectation that we need to be over sexed, porn addicted, horny maggoty dogs. Where’s the truth in that? The media constantly bombards us with facts pointing to boys watching porn, but does that automatically mean we all do? We are perceived, by many, as souls with out morals, as lecherous fiends who have no consciences, when in fact this only represents a small minority. It’s really the media that’s painting this picture in the minds of the public, taking small, insignificant, instances and making outrageous insinuations, in a way smearing the good name of young men all across the world.
Then because of this bad image, perhaps a backlash of the feminist movement, it seems necessary for us to act this way, under pain of being labelled gay. We need to be raunchy sex whores who only think of one thing, and you can only guess what that is. It’s like society forces us to express our sexuality explicitly in public, to be overly charged with these emotions, even when we actually aren’t.
Another issue is among us men. Among men, we take on a different manner, a more “manly manner”. We never talk about our emotions, or say how our heart has been broken by one of you, because then we’d be seen as weak. To be precise, it’s more about male bonding than emotional support, talking about electronics, sports, etc. A little example of a conversation would be, “Hey did you see the Habs game last night?” “Ya I know. The goal was soooo good, with Ryder receiving the pass and slapping it in the net.” Of course, there is more to the relationships among us, but I can’t reveal all our coveted secrets. All in all, we don’t express ourselves emotionally amongst each other, even in public, because being emotional has been deemed wrong by the alpha males of the entertainment world, those idols standing right up there with our fathers.
There also is the problem of body image. It’s not just something that affects women. All boys/men, are “suppose” to be the stronger of the two sexes physically during every single moment of their lives. It’s said women have the brains, men have the brawn (which as you can see I’m very lacking of), reflecting very much the view of how we’re suppose to be in flesh. A man is supposed to be bigger and taller than his female companion, but for some (Me!) that isn’t exactly the case. I’m tall and gangly, lacking muscle. Now if you were to ask any boy like myself what they’d change about their image, most would wish to be more built. On the news we always hear about girls suffering from the pressures of being fat, all wanting to be like the thin twigs in the entertainment world, resorting to throwing and starvation to reach that perfect size. Never to you ever hear about the troubles of boys at all, almost like its insignificant. Does it exist, this lack of self-esteem due to physique? Yes! In both genders, but for some reason the male portion is ignored.
In the end, we both have our own shares of pressures and problems, and all I’m asking of you is to acknowledge that we have issues too. Don’t put us down for trying to be macho, chauvinistic, and pompous. It isn’t like it’s programmed into our heads; we just have to act that way to be considered a “man”, all in hopes of fitting society’s perfect mould. Allow us be dark and twisty too, to be messed up with our own complicated lives. Gives us credit for the ups and downs we experience. Just next time, don’t start complaining to us that your lives are difficult, because we have our own share of struggles to overcome.

I love chocolate it is so tasty,
So creamy and delicious, yum oh yum,
Dark and brown and rich, not at all pasty,
To not like it you would have to be a dum dum.
Many flavors it has, white, dark, and milk,
Chocolate it medicine for the soul,
Down your throat it slides, feeling just like silk,
So tempting in that big blue bowl.
The only bad thing about chocolate,
Is there is not enough in the whole world,
So right now grab as much as you can get,
It is best when two flavors are swirled.
Give into the temptation, before it’s gone,
So send for chocolate with your trusty pawn.

You're the one that made this topic, so why bother asking?!

I love poetry and I have written quite a few poems, finally got the computer to work so here is one I could find. I have more but they would take up this whole forum and I don't want to do that! lol I wrote it a while back so it's not that great.

Through the Looking Glass

Through the looking glass,
You see all time that will pass.
Watching all the memories gone past,
Knowing it all went by so fast.

Remeniscing about all that has gone,
Looking at the one great bond,
Feeling like you are so fond,
When it finally dawned.

Dawned that you have seen the good times roll,
Watched as the bad took their toll,
Sat back and seen the acheived goal,
And stared as the time weathered your soul.

Dawned that you are worth something more,
Something you believe to your very core,
Something that is an open door,
Knowing you musn't close that floor.

Believing in all your goals and dreams,
Looking back at what were neccessary deams,
Peeking at the hair brained schemes,
All holding up like strong, hard beams.

Loosening of all eartly ties,
Letting go of all those hot guys.
Finally fitting into that one size,
You see through eyes that are wise.

Hearing insults and compliments,
That often put the equivilent of dents,
Put up a protective fence,
That not even one can get through with great sense.

Finally with one last look,
You peer into your favorite book,
Look at all that was not took.
And feel at peace with every cranny and nook.
