Myanmar-cyclone Nagris
Posted 5/17/08
On 2 May 2008 tropical cyclone Nargis hit the coast of Myanmar and devastated large parts of the low-lying delta region of the Irrawaddy River. Winds exceeded 190 kilometres per hour as the storm ripped through the Myanmar’s biggest city Yangon (estimated population 6 million) for over than ten hours. Homes were flattened, more sturdy structures damaged, trees uprooted and power lines downed. In rural parts of the country up to 95 per cent of all homes were destroyed.

I hate the Myanmar government! They're not giving their 100% in helping its people. They're even slowing down the rescue efforts of other countries! Damn... I just feel sorry for the people there. I mean, I have never heard such many people die in a typhoon before. I read in an article about the calamity and they said that the roads are flooded... numerous bodies floating like logs. There's even this village... I think about 600 people where suppose to be living there. I heard only 12 survivors were found. I'm not sure about the intel's level of truth though... I hope it isn't true O_o

It's sad how the government declined some foreign helps..poor people.
The weird part was the earthquake in China happened after the Myanmar just finished with the cyclone.
It's a traumatic experience for those people, quoted from sabekuji "numerous bodies floating like logs." that's an unpleasant view..especially if they are those people that you know.

The burmese military is stealing aid supplies:
http://ratchasima.net/2008/05/17/steal-big-steal-little/#

International groups in Burma are reportedly acknowledging that the army is “diverting” or “pilfering” aid (euphemisms for thieving) to Cyclone Nargis victims but are declining to give details for fear that they will be locked out completely.
