I dont personally think the two bombs were necessary. If the US dropped one in the water near one of the cities to show the power I think the Japanese would have gotten the hint. The US was still butt hurt about Pearl Harbor so they were out for blood.

I think the bombs were wrong for the simple fact that Pearl Harbor was a military installation, Hiroshima and Nagasaki were predominately civillians (even though there was some industrial parks).

On my opinion it was the Japanese's fault for bombing pearl harbor. If the americans did'nt nuke Japan the war would have continued and a lot more would have died. It's a good thing the japanese changed for the better.

It was a war out there so the Japanese wants to win and attacked Pearl Harbor which was strategically located.

But I red somewhere that the U.S. did'nt want to be involved in the war and the Japanese made the first move without declaring war.

There was a cold war that eventually led to controlling of countries to include Asian countries and Spaniards in the Phil were defeated by the Americans and the Americans were defeated by the Japanese in the Philippines and with the unexpected embargo, Japan was essentially forced to choose between withdrawing from their aggression in Asia, or seizing the oil they needed directly; the Japanese military did not consider the former an option, and many of them considered the oil embargo as an unspoken declaration of war. So the Japanese attacked the Pearl Harbor.

actually, my aunt, who was alive at that time told us that the japanese were rather nice. it was the koreans who were brutal (i think i heard her say they were under japan's control but i'm not sure) anyway, the japanese only took over our country because we were leaded by the americans. they actually promoted our nationality by letting us use our own language, etc. etc. (we weren't allowed during the American's time and were considered "indios" if we did during the Spanish time) but their real intentions were to erase any trace of any western-influence from our country.

well, at least that's what i learned from social studies. i'm open for any corrections

well, maybe NOT all the Japanese were that bad.. my grandfather's grandpa was a Japanese..

But still, there were Japanese who brutally killed the Filipinos, the children, remember the Death March? ...

actually, i blame the entire war - WORLD WAR 2 - on the TREATY OF VERSAILLES!!!

if the 'winners' of the First World War had not been so selfish as to feel that they could decide everyone's fate, germany would not have to suffer as much. germans would not have to suffer as much. there would be less need to join extremists parties like Hitler's. then the Nazis would not have come to power. and germany would probably not have gone into war.

yes, i know about the death march and other brutal things they've done. but a lot of innocent japanese people were also killed, especially in the hiroshima and nagasaki bombing. i'm not saying they were at fault, i don't think anyone's at fault. it just all goes to show that war never solves anything. everyone was affected by the war, everyone felt it.

my point is: NOBODY deserved any bad thing that happened. world war II was just downright ugly, and that's all that i was trying to say.

Not true at all, we dropped it on two major cities and they still refused to surrender. And you have to remember, when we finally dropped the bombs, it was late in the war, a lot of the industrial parts was already hit repeatedly and a lot of the manufacturing was moved into residential areas.

^ actually they were going to surrender after the first bomb, there was even a message by the imperial government send to the United states through Soviet union about surrendering terms, but stalin "accidentially forgot" to give it to the US.
