I was talking to one of my friends about this and they were asking me why i thought that all the hero's in fairy tales have fair and none of them are bald?
I thought it was a very good point, all Hero's in fairy tales always seem to have long flowing locks of perfect hair that nerver faulters.

Post your thoughts. <_<;

I guess because some people think that they look more handsome and heroic with long flowing hair that blows in the wind~
Then again if they were bald, i think it would suit more a comedy
Bald heros? ..

It's because they always stereotype heroes as Prince Charming. They view heroes to be this good-looking, strong and all- man in fairy tales.Pft. I dislike heroes. Ha ha. Can you even imagine a hero that looks like Golum in LOTR? Plus in fairy tales the heroes always rescue damsels in distress, so I guess they assume that they can't pair an ugly or balding hero to a beautiful damsel with a head full of gorgeous locks. (T.T")

coz... bald wasnt considered a hairstyle at the time they were written? normally baldness would be related to aging... and well heroes cant be aged geezers can they? o yea and hair was an indication of wealth etcetc

probably because they're aimed at children not that bald people are scary but its the same with princesses, they've al got long flowing hair. Its just stereotypical.

Shrek was kinda a twist on the hero thing though.

Cos duh long hair is hot. And they're made to be idolised so that little girls will keep dreaming of a handsome prince/hero to whisk them away. Most little girls don't like baldness.
