Definitely a desktop. Nowadays, smart phones can do pretty much all the small things you would want to do on a laptop, such as stream or watch videos, surf the net, and check and send email while also being portable. Since portability is the main draw for laptop users I would say that the smart phones and net-books pretty much have that area covered. For absolutely, any kind of demanding task, whether it be high end gaming, photo/video editing, etc. I can't see how a laptop could compare with a desktop. I like the ability to be able to know that I can upgrade my memory, hard drive space, processor, and video cards, as new technology emerges without having to buy a completely new rig. This just really isn't possible with a laptop. So from both a performance and financial standpoint, I can't see replacing a desktop with a laptop. Sorry if this post was rather long

I switched from a desktop to Laptop, I have purchased a 13 inch MacBook Air about a year ago.
The light weight and small size of the MacBook Air really does make a difference. |
