Light from Death Note for example , is not perfect and never will be . He went crazy because of desperation . L is not perfect . He doesn`t sleep and sits weirdly . The better question is , " Define perfect. "

And actually, the term "Mary Sue" means something along the lines of "Author's/Authoress' pet". A cliche character with obvious flaws (so really they're not "perfect") and also a character the writer seems to highly prefer and put in the center of attention. Sometimes the character that is disliked the most or easily.

Offline	Permalink Reply Quote Posted 3/12/10 I don't believe that there's any perfect anime character in general no matter how well they seem to have it together. Depite whether people seem to think Lacus Clyne or Kira Yamato are so-called "perfect," really no one is. I mean everyone has their flaws. I'm guessing that the main reason why people seem to think that Lacus is a perfect character is not mainly because she's a nice character who's also pretty. Just because someone is pretty, smart, and nice and doesn't show too many flaws doesn't mean that they've achieved perfection. It just means that they have a lot of good points for them. As for me, I like Lacus Clyne and Kira Yamato as characters because they are actually nice and good-hearted. It's a lot better than characters who think that they're badass just because they're douches to others and don't take crap from others in my opinion.
