Order to Watch Angelique

all angelique anime are based on the angelique games. it's basically a whole franchise with games, manga, and anime as well. the games all have slightly different plot but the one thing they all have in common is that the main character is named angelique (or ange as a nickname).

1. angelique ova- this is where the game originated with the first angelique, angelique limoges. in this anime, angelique is a queen candidate where she must "raise" or "cultivate" a planet with the help of the original nine guardians. (for those who are confused about the end, angelique chooses to become queen instead of fostering her romance with oscar. )

2. angelique: shiroi tsubasa no memoir- this is a kinda like a sequel to angelique ova. even though it's a sequel, you may have a hard time understanding what's going on and who all the people are because this was made probably with the assumption that you've played the game. our main character this time is angelique collet, who has recently passed the test to become queen of a new cosmos. (no, there's no anime that shows how this angelique became queen; you'll have to play the game). if you're paying attention, you'll see that this angelique collet is sacred beast queen who's asleep in angelique ~kokoro no mezameru toki~ and angelique limoges is the divine bird queen. also arios is here as well.

3. koi suru tenshi angelique ~kokoro no mezameru toki~ - basically the sequel to the other two and the first season of the tv series. again, we have another new angelique who goes by ange. she's the legendary etoile who must save the beast cosmos where angelique collet is asleep in. here, ange interacts with the original guardians while accomplishing her mission.

4. koi suru tenshi angelique ~kagayaki no ashita~ - the sequel to angelique ~kokoro no mezameru toki~ and the second season of the tv series. don't know much about it except that i think ange is recruiting new guardians for the beast cosmos. most of these guardians can be seen in shiroi tsubasa no memoir except that they don't know they're guardians YET.

5. neo angelique ~abyss~ - this is a spinoff from the angelique series. this one can be watched whenever you want since it's only loosely connected to the original angelique series. in this one, angelique must help with the purification of thanatos (these monsters that drain the life force out of people) and such. no guardians from what i've seen BUT she's still surrounded by a lot of bishounen, i found some really interesting stuff to show how neo angelique is connected to the other series; click the spoiler to learn more.



6. neo angelique ~abyss~ second age - the sequel to the first neo angelique abyss. don't want to spoil much (and plus i haven't watched it yet) but basically it continues where the first season left off.


hope this helps clarify the confusing world of angelique. i'm not an expert at this either but i enjoy watching the anime (except for koi suru tenshi angelique ~kokoro no mezameru toki~ because i find it extremely corny and ange is so annoying). if you have any question, i can try to figure it out.

haha. your welcome. you'll be surprised how much wikipedia and searching around the internet can teach you. i was obsessed after watching the ova and just searched around trying to find as much angelique info as i could.

there were rumors or a possibility that the game would be translated to english. however, nothing has happened probably because it wouldn't be as popular in the US as it was in japan. so the likelihood of it getting translated is really small. but japanese stuff is getting really popular in the US these days so there's still hope that maybe one day an angelique game would be translated.

would you or anyone know how many episodes are part of :

1. angelique ova-
and
2. angelique: shiroi tsubasa no memoir-

and where I can possibly watch them? I can't seem to find this information anywhere. Anime-Planet says there is 3 episodes is OVA 4, which I am guessing is Angelique OVA, and that there are two episodes for the memoir one which they title Angelique OVA 1. BUT i went on this other website that says Angelique OVA is an 8-episode series. I am so confused....can anyone clear this up for me? Thanks.
