No, because it doesn't express the values of free will. One could always say that parents are to blame by bringing up their children in a certain way. :U

okey, thank you.
though I must say that by some churches children really don't get life any more. they must do this and that, and they never get why, cause it's not logical at all.(difficult to explain, searching for words, sorry)

truthfully, i go because i'm forced to.... i don't know but when i go to church, i'm not even listening to it, i'm people watching.... so iff if i'm gonna do that, might as well not go bec. it'll be like disrespecting god.... i pray to him when i'm down or i feel happy and thank him.... it's more like having a conversation with him....

If there's anything I learned from SZS <- A great series by the way, is that we have become slaves to things we wouldn't expect. Certain things you feel you have to do on a certain bases that aren't really a necessity are how we have become the slaves. You don't have to do anything, but many of us still believe that is the right thing to do, which is sometimes is, but nonetheless, it still leaves me in Despair! haha, I laugh at myself....

I go to church to worship God and learn more about him
unlike many Christians, I wasn't born in a Christian family, I accepted Christ about 3 years ago...

Honestly, no one can be born a Christian, you can be born in a Christian home though. I was born in a Christian home, and I rebelled against God for many years. Up until this January did I become serious about my faith in Jesus and live by the Spirit. I go to church because I love God, and I can draw closer to Him there. It's something most people don't understand.

I go to church when I feel like it these days. My parents are Catholics, but we don't really uphold it as much. I'm not sure about them, but I would rather listen to a good sermon rather than come back one day to realize the reverend said the same exact speech, which is unlikely, but there's that gut feeling.

As a child, it seems kinda fruitless to go to church, and for me, attend church activities which hinder my schedule. Maybe when I get older I would be compelled to go to church, but to talk to people and whatnot. I can't find much to learn from the reverend other than the moral and ethic guidelines God wants us to live in, and how paradoxical they may be to today's society.

sometimes i ask myself the same question...if it's just to pray, cant we just do it anytime and anywhere we want to? it's still prayer after all.

or..if it's to listen to the gospel and the priest's sermon, and learn more about god and so on...well, cant we just simply live our lives and learn those lessons from experience?

but they say mass is the highest form of prayer...

oh well, i go to church because it's part of my obligation as a christian...but i myself dont know why it's really that necessary...i mean, i talk to god everyday (in my prayers)...and i try to do what's good based on my conscience....isnt that enough?

-Wow, I'm suprised at some of these people in this forum. They go to church and don't know why? Here's a good question, why does it have to be Sunday? Do you not go to church to learn about the Word of God? But then your preacher says you can learn about it yourself too. But that's like a teacher saying to go study a book yourself instead of going to class and talking about it there.
-Obviously church isn't just that, if it was it would be a study group. So why do we call it church?
-Btw, I'm a Christian but I'm asking these questions cause I want responses from specific people. Theist are being bashed for a reason, mostly because they do things without knowing why. I want people to question themselves why for "the unexamined life is not worth living".
