who's going to kill him? Even if he's killed he must have a son to continue the show similar to DBZ plot.

A plausible theory, since Mashimoto and his brother were inspired by Toriyama's work growing up. Toriyama was the creator of Dragon Ball. If you think about there is sort of an outline for their works.

Dragon Ball: Story started with Goku being a clueless little boy, unaware of his origin and his "difference" to the rest of the world. There was a 'time skip', all the characters are older, stronger, new abilities. New characters from elsewhere are thrown into the plot and fights many different villains throughout the series. Some of whom were villains became Goku's allies. There are also some enemy organizations that he had to defeat. (Red Ribbon Army, Freeza's Army) At the end (end of GT series) he dies and becomes something of an inspiration to younger generations, or someone that his companions will always remember and honor. But then again he died countless times in the series it was ridiculous, no other anime should ever use a 'reviving' scheme ever again.

Satan 666: Started out with Jio being a young boy, unaware of his "other self" (basically his difference) and finds people that accepts him. Has a goal and eventually learns of his other self. There's a time skip, characters got older, stronger, etc. etc. etc. There's an organization he must defeat or is an enemy organization. Fights various enemies throughout the series with some becoming his friends or joining his side. In the end of the series he dies for the world, becomes someone his friends will always remember and honor.

Naruto: pre-shippuuden, Naruto doesn't know of the nine tails (he's different from the rest). Finds people that accepts him, fights against various ninja's. Some of which he became real pals with (Gaara) There's a time skip to Shippuuden series, everyone's older, etc. etc. There's an organization out there he must defeat. and I think you're starting to get the idea.

So you can see the similarity in the three works and it's not hard to believe if Naruto will eventually be killed off in the series as an ending, that's how the first two series that i named ended. But it is also possible that Naruto would go the extra mile and follow the DB franchise a little more closely, meaning implementing more series name. What i mean is how there was Dragon Ball then Dragon Ball Z then Dragon Ball GT. Perhaps the Naruto series would follow suit with Naruto then Naruto Shippuuden followed by Naruto (something).

Either way, the first post was a good read. But realize that these are all just theories and patterns that people have picked out based on other works. What will happen? We will find out in the years to follow.

Aye, like I told my best friend this story once, and he didnt believe it was liek this. Goku is an good example of Naruto, even tho he was an odd boy, but he learn attack and history and look how he turn out in the end!

Naruto will save Sasuke unless he doesn't be lame, protect the Leaf Village, and become the 6th Hokage and live in a nice world of peace.

what could happen going along with your dragon ball theory is that naruto ends up dying to save everyone and then a new series w/ a timeskip of konohamaru facing the same kind of challenge inspired by naruto or naruto doesn't die timeskip new series naruto faces new enemies, saves everyone, dies, and paves the way for konohamaru although personally i hope he lives, but out of these two ideas i would prefer the second outcome...due to seeing how all the relationships work out, but its just a thought

Well... if that was the case, then the story wouldn't be called "Naruto" anymore. As much as people would like to believe that Konohamaru is starting to make a real appearance, he is a side character and will always remain as such. The likeness in Konohamaru and Naruto in abilities is like how Goku's son were like him. Which brings up the point again of how the series are similar.

Also I forgot to mention this before, although I do get the feeling that Naruto will die in the end, it won't be until he accomplishes something great of some sort. Such as finally "saving" Sasuke, becoming Hokage, die trying to protect his village, or just become one hell of an inspiration to Konoha where he is revered as a ninja as great as the 4th (or something along those lines). The reason I think this will happen is because if Naruto were to just end up dead without any real sense of accomplishment then that would be one craptastic ending with alot of hate mail to Mashimoto, and also stories like these never end without some thing good out of it.

Otherwise like someone said "Naruto tried so hard to accomplish something and never accomplished anything but just died. So no matter how hard you try, you'll still just fail and die in the end." Probably not something that the editors would want to see spreading due to the ending of a 'very' popular manga/anime.

And... OMG someone mentioned Kenshin. WOOT WOOT!

hence why i personally prefer the second theory i proposed because i also believe that konohamaru should be more of a lesser character but many series have had spin off's including DBZ itself such as Neko Majin Z and others with continuation later with a related or similar character such as MAR and MAR Omega so i could see that happening with konohamaru, personally though i agree with you that if naruto does die it will be a very dignified death after a major accomplishment also you could say what happened to the 4th Hokage foreshadows what will happen to Naruto and possibly naruto could die while finially defeating Madara, with Madara's connection w/ the 9 tails and also the 9 tails connection with the 4th hokage, and since madara seems to be invincible and immortal and also responsible for quite a bit of the destruction that has happened to Konoha this would be an amazing achievement arguably better than any other hokage's achievements
