Who should gin-san end up with at the end of gintama?

Because this is an old poll made before she appeared. It's like if someone who's ahead with the manga chapters would ask the same question about Fumiko. Most people who are just following the anime wouldn't have a clue who she is.

I don't think Gin would actually end up with anyone...If the story concludes well enough he should die protecting Takasugi or something equally melodramatic...(It also seems I've gotten a lot more cynical over these past 3 years...)

Although when it comes to the matter of preference, I would say Tsukuyo...or Rei (that female spirit from the ghost arc)

I would love for him and Tsukuyo to be together, but it's never ever going to happen. I love them so much, so it kind of guts me.

I don't get the Kagura x Gintoki vibe. Gintoki has always acted like a much, much older brother to Kagura. He always lectures both Shinpachi and Kagura about how they're just kids and don't know anything compared to he who is an adult. It's so much like an older brother... if anyone has an older sibling say 10 or 12 years older yet stay very close, that's what it feels like. I speak from personal experience.

Furthermore, Gintoki calls her a kid all the time, and other times he acted as the father as well. This was conveyed in many, many situations. In the Radio Exercise chapters for example. Gintoki totally acted like a parent/guardian/much older brother and told her not to go out because it's raining. He's not like waiting for her to grow up so he can be with her or anything. Besides, Kagura has known his disgusting habits and it's all too familiar with him for any sparks to fly. It's just, I don't know, not possible imo.. the same way Kagura and Shinpachi isn't possible. Also, during Christmas time, Kagura also referred to Gintoki as her other father (take your christmas ads and pretend to stand next to your oyaji who is reading the newspaper). Also, both Gintoki and her father Umibouzu ended up as Santas to cheer up Kagura. Isn't that what fathers do? Play Santa? I don't object to them being together when Kagura grows up, but after so many years of staying under one roof and treating someone as your much older brother/father it feels weird to have romantic feelings for them.

I'm more comfortable with the idea of Kagura and Okita. They're both crazy, and during the Rokkaku chapters, Kagura seemed to understand Okita really well. They're natural rivals and they sort of complement each other. It's not unusual for rivals to fall for each other. And even as they grow up together, I see them better suited to each other. Even though I said all this, I know Okita and Kagura isn't going to happen, either. I just like them together.

SIGH. I love Gintama. Sadly it's where pairings don't happen. Gintoki is going to fanboy over Ketsuno Ana forever while Sacchan is going to stalk him forever. Lol, I kind of find her annoying to be honest, but I love her for her crazy antics, too.

Ahhh, you know...about the Gin X Kagura thing...
True it's like a father-daughter relationship, true it's like a brother-sister relationship, true they've live under the same roof for nearly a good 5 years and will continue to do so for quite some times...but you know...
There's this thing called lolicon complex =w=" - and of course you've heard of it.
I am one of those hopeless people who fall over head to toe for loli pairings. So despite all these reasons and against all logics, the mere image of Gin ruffling Kagura's hair can send sparks flying.

oh and, I love Okita X Kagura too...but still, Hijikata X Okita would be nice...

I was so moved by their relationship during the Mitsuba Arc.

The thing with Gintama is that new characters keep joining the cast, including female characters of course. For example in the new arc about Elizabeth that's gonna start next week, there will be a new girl and many people say she's the sexiest Gintama has ever seen, plus seems like she'll get some sort of, hmm... "bond" with Gintoki but I haven't read the manga chapters of this story so I really don't know much.
And although I'm a massive GinTsu supported I can't wait to see what's gonna happen with Fumiko.
