im in Carleton university here in ottawa. aside from the great athletic programs it offers its a pretty well made school. there were reports about it being a LCU ( last chance university ) but that is completely rubbish especially if you look at the amount of graduates who get jobs in their field after their done university. we're known for our journalism and basketball here but im in enviromental science ( just switched into it so i have to restart everything........) and its going pretty well. plenty of lab time and the prof's are nice. dont see a problem with it at all. although tuition fees are a b*tch here in ontario. osap is so gonna kill me after im done >.<!!

Where is UCA? Is it new? I thought I'd heard of all London universities.

My brother's girlfriend graduated from LCF in 2001 and she's always said she regrets wasting three years of her life there. I think she said it was too chaotic, isolating, difficult to keep track of her course assignments, many cancelled lectures, lack of support (admin, tutorial and network), and there were a lot of snobbery and indifference among lecturers towards students.

I think it's numerous lecture cancellations that pissed her off most because her parents invested a lot of money in her moving to England to attend LCF. FWIW.

I attend York University in Toronto. I double major in History and English, but I have taken numerous courses in Anthropology and Philosophy. I was thinking of attempting to transition into Law awhile back, but I now have my sights set on teaching English abroad - preferably Latin America or Japan. I intend to apply to the JET program once I complete teacher's college, which is years away.

ya i was thinking of doing that too. there are the tesol courses that offer you jobs after you complete their little courses. or you could just apply directly through programs that will let you teach there after uni. my friend did it and he's in shanghai now teaching and exploring china on his weekends lol.

If you're planning on majoring in Genetics, Biochemistry, Cell Biology or pretty much anything medical I would suggest UBC. It has great facilities and awesome research materials. If you're going into socio economics I would suggest SFU (I don't know much about socio economics... not my field).

UCA is in Surrey. Well... I don't know. But LCF or Central St. Martins are two most famous fashion colleges in England. Of course it will be competitive. About the lectures and stuff... that I don't know about because there seem to be no problem now.
