stop making the little noob look stupid just cause he doesn't know anything about cars apart from what the first season of initial D has taught him.

mid engined is awesome. purely because of the fact it will sound awesome..the engine is literally right behind you! the balance is also better than engines mounted to the front..

I thought MR layout is usually for "perfect weight distribution". Toyota MR2 (or SW20) as an example. Mid-engine Rear wheel Drive. Not many MR cars around, probably because of the lease amount of trunk space for common use, like moving...oh wait, thats only once or twice a year . Anyways, I like MR, cause I was raised around an MR vehicle. Don't remember what kind though .

How I rank
FR > 4WD > FF > MR > RR

FR cars are great, they have pretty good weight distribution and most of my favorite cars happen to be FR. All round performer in all types of races. Besides, all rotaries are RWD.
4WD cars make beastly traction out of about every weather condition. Ideal for short races and various weather conditions.
FF. Good ol' FF. Not only a fan of rotaries, but a fan of FF Hondas also. No one builds an FF car like Honda. The common wrong wheel drive underdog.

I'm not a huge fan of mounting an engine anywhere besides the front.

RR, MR, or FR. a little bit of oversteer is always fun, or as Top Gear describes it, "understeer is when you turn a corner, but the wheels don't turn as much as you would assume, so you keep going mostly forwards, crash into a tree and die. Oversteer is when you turn a corner, but the wheels turn much more than you thought, so you spin and continue backwards to crash into a tree and die. in the end, oversteer is better because you don't see the tree that kills you."

MR cars are almost always sportcars, and it's usually reserved for premium cars, so they have to sound good.

I don't really think there's any large difference between how the both configuration will sound difference, having difference engine setup make a much bigger difference.

FF for better weight distrobution vs the WHP when launching at a quarter mile. Also gives decent turning without oversteer, not quite AWD, but there is a saying, umm what was it... oh yeah. "Its better to pull a carriage around a corner than to push it." FF is also good for going through snow passes, which I frequent, although AWD is better in that perspective, I think FF is a good (Medium) between the advantages and disavantages of AWD, FR, and RR.
