I've only had this happen to me a handful of times, realizing that I was dreaming and being able to control what I was doing after that. My dreams are usually really vivid, though, so there have been multiple times when I've woken up horrified that a friend died or that I was pregnant or something equally bogus. XD;;;

Ah! I LOVE lucid dreaming. I've only experienced it maybe 3 times, but it's a very cool feeling. After the first 2 times it happened to me randomly I started wonder if you could induce it, and enter the state on purpose. So I did some research online and they do have guides how to purposefully put yourself into lucid dreaming. I've never achieved it intentionally though.

i can only control my dreams at the start of my sleep (before REM obviously). after that i just sit back and enjoy the ride.. however when I do get nightmares in deep sleep i am able to control it for some odd reason.. i can turn a really bad nightmare into a pleasant dream. i do get a lot of sleep paralysis though.. or whatever it's called.. when you sleep and you try to wake up but are unable to move.. or when my mind is actually awake but my body is still asleep. i hate those cuz they also happen to me when i sleep in class...

For awhile now I have had a abbility to Relise i was dreaming within the dream world. And to such points of were i would stay asleep(in the wake reality my body is as if im sleeping but hard to wake) in dream state and world I am able to dive deeper into the nightmares/dreams.

The nightmare control is were you gain skills to help you againt what is causing the nightmare.

though Real phase(all 5 senses are fully activated, meaning will be hard to distinguish a dream from reality.. Ah you feel pain, smell, hear, taste, see) nightmares while the Nightmare control is active is the best and most realistic. though real phase dreams are rare..

Im wandering how many of you relise you are dreaming while uncoinous. And are able to access some of your dream skills?

If so what skills abilities do you find? im mostly a fan of defence(dream materlization of stuff to help defend against the nightmare causes, Transport( a way to teleport without knowing were your end up.), extension( able to keep your real time body uncoincous). these are some..

So do you have nightmare control? Do you use skills? Have you had a Real phase dream?

Do you enjoy taking control of your nightmares?

i suggest u watch WAKING LIFE, a movie by richard linklater..

this sometimes happen to me too..
id realise that im dreaming and then i wake up.. and if i want my dream to continue, id just go back to sleep and the show goes on..

For some reason, I always have these lucid dreams.
Just two nights ago, I knew I was in a dream then I woke up. But as I woke up, it was also just a dream.. A dream of me waking up after a dream.

Haha that was fun (:

I think I've commented on this before. Only happened once for me, and it was the easier way to have one...where you eventually realize your in a dream, rather then going into a dream and having control.

I've read the first step at getting better at this is to improve dream recall. Mines pretty poor. Also, timing how long you stay awake, when to go to sleep, etc.

Uh, LeeMakihara, what do you recommend?

I never knew that there were specific terms for these "powers". If you can consider making it such that I never have a nightmare a power, then yes, I can do that. I often realize at certain points that I am in a dream, and I usually either make myself wake up, or I play around with the possible events I can make happen and see what the turn out is. So in short, I can control more or less everything that happens in the dream. Nifty trick, if I do say so myself.
