I got some fish as recommended by the salesman and I shoved it in the small house aquarium (approx 20 gallons with a bag of pre cleaned white sand, some sort of artificial decor, air and filter and a back drop) and ta da! a work in progress aquarium and it has contributed a lot in aesthetics and others say it is good for the heart.....

Do you like fishes at home? What kinds of fishes do you have (also any favorite)? Do you have any recommendation so others can start having an aquarium?

This is a Discus Aquarium

I have a 50gal salt water Aquarium.. theres a variety of fish in that setup :P

It's really pretty to look at and I think it's kind of otherworldly, like.. a part of the sea is in my living room. lol

I have a 30 gal tank that used to have several Angelfish that I raised from fry....I had them for nearly 2 years...the last one died just a few days ago. Now I have Tigerbarbs and Gourami. The Angelfish were somewhat easy to raise, save for their sensitivity to water changes when they were young...but as they grew they became more hardy. I miss them alot. These new fish the Barbs and Gourami are interesting to watch, esp the Barbs because of they way they swim as a school. They can be a bit on the agressive side, chasing and nipping fins....I tried to put one of the female Bettas that I also have (2 males and one female, in separate bowls) and they harrassed her to no end. So they are best kept away from community fishes. Overall...I love my aquarium, ever since I can remember my family has always kept fish as pets. I guess it has something to do with growing up chinese and with feng shui. It's not difficult to start and not so expensive... Bettas are a good starting fish, they need very little to survive, just a small bowl with fresh properly conditioned water...and food, of course... ^_~

yes two actually, and they are full of guppies. so if you ever want a seemingly endless fish population get about 6 guppies 3 male and 3 female and there you go.
