While the anime was still showing bak in 2000, the anime caught up with the manga so I think the anime producers rushed the ending. The anime follows up to the Okinawa Arc which in the manga around volume 14 which is around 90's-100 I think
The manga is AWESOME!!!!!!!!! I just finished re reading it and it pains me 2 see only 3 replies... The manga goes deeper than the anime and has a complete different ending which doesnt involve Onizuka leaving Japan at all
u cud see it at mangahut.com(which goes up to chapter 199 but its easier to change pgs and stuff) then I read the final chapter(200) at manga.bleachexile.com and look for great teacher onizuka

I exploded reading the manga. I saved too much of the images to use for the most obscene things.
It's great because it's random, yet real to life in a sense. Society isn't really like that, but it would suck.

the manga is great, far better than the anime. it's got tons of pop culture references (onizuka beating Heihachi and Jason Voorhees in arm wrestling, imitating Iron Man, camping out for a PS3 etc.) ,good humor and an awesome story.5 out of 5.

I saw all three of the adaptation to the GTO story and there are all amazing in their own way...however i love the manga more than the other two...is there any other manga/anime like GTO???

Kamen Teacher is very similar to GTO & the manga is drawn by the same person
