Banana. Sapjap. Half breed. Mux (mutt and mix). Nits (rice).

The nickname Mux lasted longest.

The one girl I've met, in all my travels, who could keep me in one place if she asked it of me, is of mixed race. I'm from a family that considers being from Eastern Europe to be a risque nationality. She's half white, half chinese, and I've never had the courage to ask her what kind of guy she prefers, but I have my suspicions. It's not that she is racist or anything... I can just understand that white blood has been stretched pretty thin, and I've never taken an ounce of pride in where I come from.

Last week, my professor presented a quote taken in 1878 from a John Miller at a California state constitutional convention. In reference to a child born half white, half chinese, he describes it as "a hybrid of the most despicable, a mongrel of the most detestable nature that has ever afflicted the Earth". I laugh at this quote, because it is proof that he has never met her.

That's Cantonese. People in Hong Kong will speak that. Chinese usually say 'Gong Xi Fa Cai.'

^ and that meant ' Happiness and prosperity to you'

Happy New Year - Xing Nian Kuai Le.

It was interesting, when I was a kid, no one really knew about South America as such, but this was almost twenty years ago when I started public education in the United States. Even though I was born here in the states I really didn't know or care much about my status as "mixed". Everyone just assumes that I am full white, so I have had very little problems in that area. I won't say that it has been fun, but it mostly confuses people. That is the part that has the most potential for comedy.

we are not actually different races, just one: Human.
3 primary species: white -black -asian and many cultures and mixes.

This whole race nonsense was started a long time ago by the so called "upper class" to make themselve fell superior. Any scientist can confirm this.

Actually it started earlier with Darwin and his theory, which of course put whites as the dominant human "Species", of course whites milked this to death

But anyway, though I'm not bi-racial, I am an albino of african descent, meaning I look like a pale white person, living in a mostly black community I got a lot of crap from kids as well as adults(as they called themselves), and of course it was rough for a while, and like bi-racial kids I was trying to idenify myself with one race or the other, (it was a very pathetic sight)

But as I got older I started to except myself as I was, and eventually became proud of my albinism because it made me unique, and the white hair is awesome

While I've lived in the U.S. my whole life I've been made fun of, and when I visit asian countries I bet I'll definately be discriminated against. I get lots of rude comments about what I look like and such, but then there are some people who say I'm pretty. So err, what ever. I shall wear a mask so that I do not get made fun of while I am in Japan.

it's weird. i'm 1/2 caucasian 1/2 african-american, but everyone i meet see me as black (the stupid ones think i'm indian ) the stereotyping is also really stupid cause i'm not even black...

I said it before.... I look like I am half black, half white, and I have never called my self mixed, I'll hit you if you say I am... even though I have about 9 different mixes in me, I have identified myself as black. My mom is the half black half white one, and she's darker than me, she identifies herself as a black woman no matter what anybody tells her.... half or not. It's not a stereotype, to be stuck in that crowd, the way I see it is that you would blend in WAY better with a black crowd than with a white crowd... (if this applies to you... goes the same for asian/white would you fit in better with the asian?)... my view is from where I'm standing... im not expecting everyone to see it like me... I don't find that insulting.... it gives you some identity.... it is kind of ignorant to stamp others as something they're not... but I mean it's better than wasting 5 minutes of explaining the technicalities of what race you are, when in the end... your not going to have an exact answer, unless you say human...... ....yes, you're not one "race" in particular, but that doesnt mean your not part of it at all.... because you are....

i just dont like the word "race" when it comes to people.

We are all one, under one sky living in one world. But racism still exist.
