Rumour has it that kids who watch a lot of anime and are used to seeing the attractive portrayals of anime characters are beginning to off load those expectations on real humans todays.

In this case, should anime have a disclaimer that reads:

*Warning attractive characters in this anime are not necessarily representative of human attractiveness. Features have been exaggerated for your viewing pleasure*

Opinions please...

Haha~ i think that disclaimer is pretty good.

Well... i wouldn't say only animes affect people's expectations of other people. What about television, magazines, movies, etc..?

it is no different then children playing with barbies and gi joes, back in the days, pnly now ppl dont want to take up their own responsibilities, and shift the blame onto others. for example, a overweigh person suing fast food resturnt for making him fat, or parent suing game industries because their kids is too violent.

parents have some say/responsibility on this.. if not, then the people watchin are old enough to realize otherwise. Its not just in animes, it applies to hollywood as well.. i saw a documentary on this: how media affects (deliberately) the behaviour of people. This may not be along the same lines as the anime, but there is still some relevance.. on a side note: i find real life geeky girls to be hot, maybe influenced a little by anime, but it still a voluntary choice

i think that after seeing alot of different anime's we all start to portray the image of a certain anime character that we have grown fond of
