So it was locked because it was originally posted in the wrong forum? Is this the only reason?

Actually yes, and if we find that you break another rule that is on the site forum rules thread you will be banned from the site for a period of time.

Because users who have their threads moved usually have not broken the rules 2 or more times in the past. Yes, we do pay attention to users who have broken the rules more than user who have not.
