If it happens, it happens. But I personally try to avoid that kind of relationship. If I can't be with them physically, then I may as well not be with them at all.

I can understand falling in love with somebody's personality on the internet, but the problem is that it is just that, a personality on the internet. Even if you are yourself online, there are nuances and quirks to your personality that text and/or images will never be able to properly convey.

Can Love be even found through internet?
Posted 10/14/08
If you believe in it then it does exist. I have a friend who found their soul mate on the internet...and they are pretty happy with each other. One of them are planning to get marry this year. So um...a few believe in it and a few don't.

in your case, i perceive that the only barrier is distance...and the trust is missing...perhaps the both of you aren't ready for that anyway...and that you were thinking that the relationship you might get to in the end is too risky and predictable...^_^

I feel like my cybersex haiku are appropriate in this discussion. The last one is new; enjoy this.

Cybersex haiku
The tubes of the internet
Are often dirty

Cybersex haiku
The web becomes sticky with
Our digital love

Disconnected signal
Empty carpal tunnel and
Lonely hairy palms

Indeed. And even if you try to be truthful, sometimes you may still come across as someone you're not. Good example, when I was dating my ex (who I had met on the internet) she said I wasn't like she thought I'd be from knowing me online. When I asked what she meant, she said that I was more reserved than what I seemed to be. And also that I seemed pensive a lot.

well...see..things will not turn out the way you expected it...even if you have been truthful about it.... that is why the "physical part" of being in love should be taken seriously..... since no one could ever expect what is the real nature of that person if you haven't meet him/her....
absolutely, there are many fallacies in life....
