something else...like personal touch!

love on the internet?

pshh, that's unbelievable.
The internet's dangerous. It's weird meeting people u completely don't know and soon admiring them...
It's hard to trust people on the internet. Cuz you know how people can be fake and pretend to be someone who they are not in reality.

However, love on the internet, it exists...
Like those online dating websites. I just hope those people are very careful and know the consequences...

"Follow what your heart and mind tells you", wouldn't you agree that for the majority of your scenerios -- your heart clashes with your mind?

Heart = emotions
Mind = logic

It's not possible for both to be victor.

People have the tendency to throw the word "love" around like it's absolutely nothing -- and that's exactly what it has been stripped down to. Nothing. Typically what people feel are just emotions of lust, the want and desire for carnal pleasure. Looking for love online is, for the most part, one form or another of plugging a hole and finding someone to stand in place of another. Which isn't a bad thing, I mean, who here hasn't played the rebound game before in real life as well? However, the main factor that people should keep in mind is the possibility of a facade and be open to the fact that stability won't play a large part of an online relationship. Don't become too attached and everything is open game.

But even so...isn't it surely probable that a middle ground could be struck...a compromise between the two...whether it's the heart giving into the mind or vice versa. Yes/No?...I say YES.

I could not have said/typed it better myself. But let's not discount the possibility that true love can be found over the www....however slim the chance...I'd like to think it's possible. But maybe this is all just me looking thru rose colored glasses....

Love can happen on the internet, and not everybody is as fake as you people say they are. Am I a 90 year old man craving only for internet sex on crunchyroll? Hell no. Are you fake? Hmm... that's a good question... are you? Are the people on your buddy list fake? Are your real life friends fake on the internet? I doubt all of them are. There can be true love on the internet... it's just odd and can only happen in very few people. If you're in a chatroom having cyber sex and you start to fall in love... yeah... that's not good.

Love on the Internet. Plausible? Maybe. Likely? Nah.

The thing that's great about the about the net is, you could remain totally anonymous. Hell, I could tell you all that I'm a underwear model and you can't know for sure. The only criteria you can judge me is by the text that I have written. You can formulate on your mind what a person could be like.

If I typed like "LOL u 4 sShizzL3 t3h h4x ", you may perceive me as some kind of annoying character.

If I typed with excellent grammar, it would seem, depending on your views, that I could be a well-groomed educated guy.

Basically, the mind can form a person into what it wants. From my experience of 12 or so "online girlfriends" each of them believing I was some sort of character, all had their different views on who I really was. One perceived me as a total bad-ass, since I emphasized and focused on my earrings and smoking habits on pictures, another perceived me as a complete nice guy, as I frequently put emoticons when I type.

The things is, that you cannot TRULY know a person when that person is not actually there in your immediate presence. Nothing substitutes for REAL interaction. Nothing substitutes for actual, live, rapport and kinesthetics.

So yeah, the internet could be good for a bridge for building relationships, but only up to that. Might I say, it is also quite easier to meet people online. There are no environmental pressures, nor the anxiety of being "picked-up". I've met some fine women via the internet, but the only ones that have ever flourish are the ones where I actually got to meet the person whom I was IM'ing all the time.

I would rather be with someone in the real world, i can personally interact and have conversation, instead of just typing to each other

edit: thought this was interesting, they have a book that teaches you how to date on the internet
