I don't think being gay or bi is really a choice and, thus, people should not be punished or treated differently simply because of it. It's how they were born. Sort of like skin color, genetic defect, sound of their voice, etc.

I'm pretty sure that Spacebat was just joking, although I actually have had somebody play the victim card as a member of the majority when talking with me before and being completely serious. Although that time it was a white person and we were talking about black history month.

Anyways I don't mind talking whenever about whatever and while I may not always have the best advice I know how to listen and if you ever need somebody to just bitch about something at (i'm the go to person among my friends for bitching about relationships) i'm the chick to talk to.

Fortunately i've gotten to the point in my life where I don't feel alone or like i've got nobody to talk to anymore. I'm engaged to a great women who always gives good advice, except when it comes to cooking, and i've even recently made a few lesbian friends who don't drive me to drink even more than I usually do. It's kind of a new experience for me because previously my experience with other gay people was meeting them at the odd LGBTQ event, being at a gay bar/club, or dating them.

I have no problems with gays/lesbians. they should be able to do whatever they want with their lives like any other person. I have no gay or lesbian friends, not from choice it just hasn't happened.

There can be many reasons for someone to be gay, being either born that way or being affected from how they are raised or how they came to understand and indulge into whatever society they chose to embrace. You don't understand this stuff right away when you're a kid which would make it confusing but the more you learn the more you have to base your assumptions and preferences off. People can be gay but not adhere to the stereotype (floppy wrists and campness etc).

I'm gay so I have lots of gay friends and of course I love gay people. I'm a firm believer in live and let live. If you disagree with someone's lifestyle that is okay but don't stick your nose in it because it is none of your business as long as it isn't hurting you or anyone else.

I just have 2 words to say to those who think were advancing as a society by allowing gay's to marry. Pax romana. A repeat in history.
For those who don't wanna look it up.

edit: Not meant to offend anyone but just to show that we're making a mistake lol

So if gay marriage is allowed during these times there will be public orgies (who wouldn't love that?) and we'll all thirst for the blood of Christians?

On a brighter point, the more gays and gay marriages there are, the less competition there is for me to find a girl. It's a win/win!

Have you ever been to a nudest colony or had to go to a nude beach? Those are the type of people that participate in public orgies....

I wouldn't love it...

Still waiting on that explanation for how giving gays the right to marry is going to eventually lead to the downfall of the US within the next 200 years.

I want bullet point examples of key events/moments that will lead to this catastrophic result as well as actual evidence why this will happen along with projections that account for things like increasing globalization and the reduction in violent deaths world wide as we move forward. If you're going to make outrageous claims at least do more to support them than make vague statements and flawed comparisons.

History repeats itself, it is self explanatory.

Edit: I take it you don't like to allow people to have any beliefs that differ your own? How sad, you won't always get what you want. Keep your beliefs though and if its truly what you believe don't let anyone change them.
I won't be reply to your posts by the way. Feel free to post away madam.

I'm with Pomff on this one. You made the claim, and so the burden of proof is on you. How sad that you make statements like that, then shy away from actually supporting your position with reasoned evidence. What you have is an opinion, not an debate, much less a coherent argument. Pointing to a single example from many centuries ago, and then saying, "history repeats" is insufficient evidence to rest on your laurels.

Want to see an example? I can point to the bible for examples of arguments against marriage, because women were property to be sold by their fathers, and a man wouldn't be punished for raping a girl, as long as he paid her father and married her. Or how about the rule that a marriage is only valid if the woman is a virgin, and if she is not, she is to be executed? By that definition, a widow isn't meant to remarry, but it's perfectly fine for a man to do so, as long as his new wife's a virgin...

To which you might reply, "But wait, that's not valid, because things aren't like that these days!" History hasn't repeated in these cases, right?

...And that is precisely why your assertion's logic fails.
