bad reasons that appeal to those with a horrible sense of logic and who are very psychologically insecure
but I applaud gopher for trying to be the devil's advocate for these neanderthals

i don't mind gay, bis or lesbians. usually i'm just saying who cares if they're the way they are? being gay bi or a lesbian doesn't really harm the world any so people shouldn't care one way or another

To lock or not to lock? That is the question.

that marriage thread was awful, and this one probably will have the same fate.
oh why is it that people have the simple morality of "I don't like him...why? ---- "I'm not equal to him" in their closed minds?
For once use reason and be aware of your limited world views and your ego. Think outside the box, I implore you.

I say lock, but that just me.

Ummm... *puts on devil's advocate hat*

1. They can't have babies
-The human virus is meant to consume all! If you aren't breeding, humanity WILL FALL!
2. They interfere the mating habits of heterosexuals around them
-Nowadays, you have to verify which direction people are flying, because you can't just assume. Therefore, less people are getting it on because non-hetero relationships gum up the gears.
3. They aren't good gender role models for heterosexual youth
-What will a child of the opposite sex face if they are heterosexual but mimic and broadcast homosexual tendencies?

1. "The human virus"? First off all, I believe, possibly outside of cancer, most diseases are spread via sex, therefore the whole "breeding to survive" thing kinda counteracts that statement. Nevertheless modern technology and its ability to keep humans alive for a much longer time than before. Back during the industrial revolution (right before world war II) the expect life rate of a factory worker was 17 years. So, I can understand that argument... if it wasn't 2007.

2. Well, usually people get to know the person before having sex with them, unless its rape or prostitution, and in that case even if pregnancy happens, there comes abortions. I mean, I don't know about you, but I don't go "Hey, are you straight? Good, now lets have sex!" I don't know about you, but that pick-up line doesn't seem to have any potential...

3. Just because you grow up in a society around them doesn't mean you have their tendencies. Sure, you may have a higher chance, but I don't think that really fits. I mean, I hang out with one of my gay friends and I don't have any "gay personality traits", if you can even separate them like that.

I think we can all agree that homosexuality makes the mating game a lot more complicated. The more sexual diversity exists, the more interference individuals face.

Try this one on for size. I bet a lot of homosexuals wish that everyone else was homosexual, because that way they could comfortably court anyone they were attracted to.

Homosexuality has been around for a while, and its never had any problems with mating. Hell, in 1900, there were about 56 million people on the earth. Now theres over 6 billion. Plus, I'll make a direct quote, "They called to Lot: 'Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us so that we may have intercourse with them.'" Verse 5 of chapter 19 in the bible's Genesis. Whether or not you believe in God or not, this was written long before even Jesus was born, and that proves of the long lasting homosexual tendencies. And if we made it 3000ish years with homosexual tendencies, when the population was MUCH smaller, I HIGHLY doubt that we're going to have problems with it when theres a whole ocean of fish to chose from instead of a stream.

Edit: Also, I can't prove this, but under assumption I would assume as a ratio homosexuality was more popular 3000 years ago than it is now. Probably because monogamy was NOT practiced and homosexuality was widely accepted and commonly practiced, so commonly practiced that its in a religious text in the Jewish and Christian faith.

There are definitely gay animals.

In response to crossy:

1. You missed my point. It doesn't matter how long humans live, if we stop breeding, we are bound to die out. Granted, our numbers are currently large, so not breeding isn't all that bad of an idea, but it is important.

2. I'm talking about meeting people. The hardest part of the mating game is the wooing and the flashing signals. See what I wrote about homosexuality simply complicating the manner.

3. The fact that homosexuality exists is inconvenient for heterosexuals. Since there are "homosexual" tendencies or signals humans broadcast, someone could be flying casual and broadcasting the complete opposite call signature than they want to. When I was young, I was very sheepish and my call signature was getting me attention of the wrong kind. Luckily, with age I was able to get back to normal broadcasting level and I no longer attract the man-lovin'
