I am a very serious Catholic. Not quite devout, but serious nonetheless. I agree with former Archbishop Desmond Tutu ( http://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-23464694).

I am Christian, and I do not believe in gay marriage or any homosexual marriage. However, gays, lesbians, bis, all of them: people forget that they're still human and still have feelings. So, my point is, I don't support them, but I'm not gonna be tearing them down.

I am straight but I believe that homosexuality is hereditary. Even if a person were to truly just want to be with the opposite sex, then who cares? It's their life. Not yours. You may not agree with it. But you should never put down another person for the way they feel. They aren't hurting anyone else.

Think about it. You know whether you are straight, bi, or gay at this moment in time. If it is such a choice to be gay, then anyone can choose to be gay, correct? Well then anyone can choose to be straight too. Well what made you decide to be straight? When did you choose that? Basically, you never did. Because it is already programmed into your brain. You never really had to think about it. Your parents may have told you certain things but we are all genetically programmed to be attracted to a certain sex. If you are born straight, then why is it so hard to believe that someone could be born gay? I get some people can't comprehend it because it seems male and female are SUPPOSED to be together because of reproduction BUT think about all of the mutations in genes and the other "abnormal"
problems derived from genetics. They still exist even if it's not SUPPOSED to be that way.

It's hard for some people to understand. But I feel like if those that are so disgusted by homosexuality, were born attracted to their same sex, they would be singing a different tune. I don't really think many people choose homosexuality and think...hmm all of these rights I won't have will be awesome! All of this disgust and hatred by other people will be awesome! No one wants that...

I do not care one way what someone's sexual orientation is. It's none of my business.

Good point. It is like the question when did you choose to be straight? I always have been and it was never a choice. I am sure the answer is the same for gays and lesbians.

I like both. The only people that know about it are people on the internet. I guess its cuz its kinda anonymous on here. But i live in the bible belt so most of the people around here would condemn me and the town would start bullying me. I live in a town with 2 red lights so everyone knows everyone. Im sure my family would be fine with it but i dont think ill ever tell them. If a beautiful girl comes in, i wonder if shes attracted to me but ill never have the courage to actually ask.

I think of them as a person. What I'm trying to say is I don't see them different because the same gender and what not or the bible says their sinners.. I see an equality between me, lesbians, gays and bis. I give them with respect and love like I would to the other people that I meet.. I guess accept who they are and they're perfect just the way they are..

I'm gay, don't know the how to why. I know I never made a choice to be this way. The only choice I had to make was to accept it as part of who I am and to stop lying about to myself, and later to my family. Sure life would be easier if I was attracted to women, but there's nothing I can do about it. If anything it's taught me not to be so judgmental of other people.

Hi great story, I wish more people knew it isn't a choice.

I think everyone should be with the person they want to without discrimination. As for myself though I am strictly a resident of man town!

Human bigotry and ignorance will always be around as long as there are different people. As an atheist I luckily have no religious book or teaching that prevents me from hating gays or gay marriages so I fully support them. They are humans and will be treated equally as humans.
