I like Gattai. Even though they may not be the best at translating they are always the first to have an episode subbed and for that I am grateful.

Are you people out of your minds ??? Shinsen subs ?? Come on!! Compared to Menclave they are just kiddos.

I will give you that they do good subs but compare it to Menclave subs, the quality of the subtitles and translations has just no comparison. The only problem with Menclave is that they are SLOW as hell but the quality they come out with is TOP class.

For me its LUNAR-ANIME fansubs!!! their subs are AWESOME, same goes for their karaoke!!! they used to do the best Bleach subs... but since they follow the rules they stopped a loooooooooooooong time ago...

i cant believe Shinsen-subs are in the lead... honestly ppl cant see good subs, even when its right in front of them...

I appreciate the hard work of every group. But I don't understand why Shinsen is leading. AonE, AiA & Lunar are all better IMO

For me Shinsen-subs is better...they are first to subbed Macross Frontier since the release of the Preview Version.

I think since episode 7, most subs have degraded in quality, except Shinsen (Shinsen's episode 7 was not their best, though). And I really find the choice of using .ogg and .mkv formats over .avi and .mp4 to be pointless. Watching it in full screen mode, I don't notice any appreciable difference in video quality between .mkv and .avi - maybe if I had a HUGE computer screen - and the multiple audio/subtitle features of .mkv aren't any use in this case... so .mkv subs are ~300 extra megabytes of wasted space an episode, IMO, and I'd like to fit this series onto a reasonable number of DVDs.

I usually download Chihiro (or whatever that one is) because they get the ep out by the time I wake up on Friday morning, even though it's far from great, then grab the Shinsen version when it comes out, because they're consistent. I haven't checked out Lunar or AonE-Gekkostate-Menclave yet, though.

Ya know I do the same thing. Also Shinsen, (perhaps its just me) has better grammar. Also I do like how they have made adjustments to names and adding slight accents changes to the subs of the work they do.

OK. So I am currently downloading all of the AonE-Gekkostate-Menclave episodes. (Think i had a few of them before and deleted them.) I plan on listening to them carefully and see how good of translations they do. Even though my nihongo is'nt all that great.
