its seriously over-rated. Guys in spandex groping each other for 2 minutes of which 1 minute 30 seconds is wasted on a yawn-inducing submission.
Isn't Kimbo Slice gong to take part in one of these thing? He's good at street fighting, but MMA journalists say he'll be eaten alive.

I'm a fan of MMA and believe it's one of the most exciting sports on the planet. Some matches can be boring if the 2 fighters are on the floor not trying any submissions, but if you see a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu attempting to finish a guy on the floor it's exciting.

Kimbo Slice would not go through MMA guys as easily as you think, even he knows that and has been training properly in MMA for awhile now.

i think alot of it is actually pretty good. i mean alot of it is more realistic and practical than kungfu/taekwondo/karate in an actual street fight

i admit some of the matchups are stupid but i think its as good as it gets for public television.

i'm actually a big fan of K1

? all MMA is is taekwondo/karate mixed in with some grappling. And it's not as effective in actual fights as the media leads people to believe, cause honestly, in fights people may not play by the rules.

And K1 is just a bunch of karate/taekwondo as well...i mean all MMA is is mixed martial arts. And they only use martial arts that are "sport friendly". Thats why you dont see much kungfu in the ring. kung fu uses eye gouges, nut shots, small joint minipulation, throat shots, ect. that are illegal in the ring. Not saying MMA cant be an overall guage of fighting ability, but if you "cling to them blindly, you will be bound by thier limitations"- Bruce Lee

Bruce Lee also used the same argument for TMA (traditional martial arts).peace over war

I find it very difficult to sit down and watch any sport on TV, I'd rather be in on the action. Having hyperactive disorder, its my worst nightmare really, I get frustrated.

MMA isn't about who can win in a street fight nor does the media portray it as such...as for kung fu and the use of eye gouging and what not, this is a sport...not really a testament to show how much you can fight in the practical sense..it's about multiple disciplines and what they can offer..and again for the eye gouging and stuff..where would you draw the line???? and for the quote you used about bruce lee..you took it out of context, he supported the idea of multiple usages of martial arts to make a well rounded fighter...he was probably and arguably the first innovator of MMA

you said that, not me

he supported the idea of multiple usages of martial arts to make a well rounded fighter

He did not support multiple styles, he supported doing what works best for the individual, and did not support sticking to a certain number of styles used in a sport setting. Bruce Lee trained in Combat martial arts, not sport. He gave up his sport arts...peace over war

They wear shorts, not spandex. Also, kimbo has already been apart of MMA, and he went 8 and 4 or something like that. Not bad but not great either. I enjoy watching it if it happens to be on but im not a fan of it, I personally enjoy good ol classic boxing, especially the holyfield matches.
