Watched it..poor baby...=/ I think that baby is suffering 24/7. It would be more humane to...end its life right away.
What I found rather disturbing was not actually the baby, but the person who filmed it and the sister who hold it. O_o The cameraman was pretty disrespectful imo. w/e

People tend to make fun about others misery. Which I can't really follow, because when I see stuff of this kind I am feeling a bit irritated/disturbed by what I just saw, and don't really know how to react to that.

But in this case it would be nice to know how to avoid things from this kind happening..., man, that would suck to get a baby like that. >.> I'd be probably scared for life after giving birth to a baby like that. Always having nightmares...hmm No offence, but it really looks like an alien or something like that, eventhough it is clearly humane. I think it would be a pretty scary sight to see this kids grow up.

Now there's some thing you don't read about every day, haha, at least I learned some thing new. I've heard of some pretty bad diseases; but that's the worst I've seen in a while.

Kind of morbid, if you ask me.

silly mods, it's not scary. just weird. *thinks what the really disturbing part of this is the nurses filming it. you can pretty much assume she'd be going to medical study to be cut up and tests run on her. thats life..

babies who have this disease are unlucky
I'm not insulting them or something... it's just sad to know that some were not bound to
live his/her life fully just because of that disease

I guess, it would be better to die than living the rest of my life receiving insults from others
or suffering from it

Oh my gosh.
My former Physics professor had a baby with that same disease. The baby died after several months due to severe infection...
I feel very sad for those babies or kids. But it makes one wonder why that happened. Is it because of the mother, the genes, or the environment? *sighs*

I looked at the youtube video, and I found myself not getting disgusted or creeped out...not at all...
Here they are given the chance to live, but they end up having that kind of condition...What a joke..A very mean joke.

I don't get why other people could even garner the guts to make fun or insult people with this condition... Ever heard of empathy and sympathy?

This is a comment from the video:
"haha! ya its like a salad lettuce head tomato eyes it would satisfy me!!! lol!"

That bloody video should be put down.

This has been on the internet since forever... part of the pain series too I believe. I guess it's funny in some senses when attributed to shock humor, but honestly, this isn't something all that funny to laugh about. It's pretty much like laughing at someone who is dying from endless infection and pain. Harlequin fetuses are really a depressing thing to see, having their eyes inverted and their skin unable to stop viral bodies from entering the body. I've seen numerous pictures of this particular symptom as I've been surfing the world wide webs (haha) since the founding of 4chan, and I have to say that the severity of harlequin type ichthyosis varies incredibly. It goes from the typical scaly fetus to kids with gaping bloody holes in their bodies that go up to disgusting sizes. I remember a few years back that there was one such fetus who managed to live past a year, as opposed to the typical few days or weeks. In any case, I don't think this is something all that funny to laugh about. Even if such a child managed to survive (which really isn't quite possible providing the reason why this particular symptom is deadly), I don't think society would be ready to accept anyone who looked like that, which is rather sad really.
