Anyone ever hear of the Lufia series?

There are only a few people i know who like this game and who have played it.

The SaGa Series as well.

There is also the Mana series.

SaGa, Mana, and the Dragon warrior series are underrated in america...

Anyone ever play Shining force? the old one? i heard it was re-released for the GBA.

Albert oddesey and beyond the beyond.

FF: Mystic Quest is one good transition game.

Castlevania legend is often dissregarded by fellow castlevania elite players as something to be disregarded chronologically to the series, when this one is the only accept as the chronological start of the series... Leon Belmont can suck my C***...

The storyline in Xenogears far surpasses anything in any Gundam series.

Yea, Shadow of th Colossus is the unofficial prequel to Ico. If you play both, you'd understand the connection.

I remember when I first played that game. It was like a year ago and I had no good games I hadn't beat and my friend gives me a playstation 1 game... naturally I'm sceptical but I gave it a shot... SO GOOD.

...I agree with you...100% but the newer ones are getting... ify... Harvest moon 64 and Harvest moon (playstation) are the 2 best ones I've played. But at first it is so hard to make money I usally just ran up to the mountains and sold the grapes and grass I found there. And you gotta get married so that eats up time woo-ing girls. I'm just happy you don't have to pay taxes in that or my guy would been out on the street.

Anyone ever heard of Terranigma? It's my favorite SNES game ever, but it never made it to the states so there aren't many people who know about it.

For those of you who have played Illusions of Gaia, Terranigma is the sequel.

Xenogears has this strange cult status. I picked up my copy way back when they were rare as hell. The stroy is undoubtedly one of the (if not the) most intelligent story put into a video game. Trim some of the fat, and it could easily be a damned good sci-fi book with no anime references at all). The combat system is terrible in my oppinion. Your gears are reliant exculsively on equipment. Your players are reliant on the bizarre combo system in the game. Combat is a grueling tedius grind of learning new combos, and only gets interesting when bosses are around. But the incredible storyline makes up for it.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles. Everyone hates this game but it's one my favorites. Zelda+Final Fantasy=WIN in my book. I loved the colorful story book feel it had, and gameplay was fun. The single player was very frusrtating, but with 3-4 players, this game is awesome.

Record of the Lodoss War on Dreamcast. Whoever said anime based games suck? This game was huge and brilliant. It was basically Diablo set in the in the ROTLW universe, with an sorta original character on his quest. The game world was huge. Hell it opens up with you getting your own fortress and blacksmith. The blacksmith can enhance your weapons with runes that you find, offering alot of possibilities. Combat is is basically about like Diablo. Awesome game you never seem to hear about.

Lucasarts Goldenage - there was a period of time - about 1900 to 1995 I think - wherever thing Lucasarts seemed to do was awesome. Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, Sam and Max Hit the Road, Day of the Tentacle, The Dig, X-Wing, Tie Fighter, Dark Forces, Monkey Island 1+2, Full Throttle, etc. Well Rebel Assault wasn't so hot... but it was one of the original games made for CD-ROM so cut it some slack.

Adventure Gaming in general. Most people here are probably too young to even remember what an adventure game. Names like King's Quest are lost on them. Every now and then something comes around akin to them, but overall, they're a page in gaming history now.

Return to Castle Wolfenstein - Nobody seemed to like this game, but I thought it was awesome and very much in the spirit of the old games. Nazis, Zombies, Occult, ass kicking, hell you could even get treasure like in the old games. It was a fun game that reminded me of old school FPS.

I think the Lunar series is underrated as a whole!

I played that game one player for so long and got sick of it and quit... picked it up a month or 2 ago and finally beat it. My friend and I are gonna get together and play it again cuz he hasnt beat it yet.
