It can help alot in making it less flat. Here's a tutorial I found, it has 3 pages. http://www.bakaneko.com/howto/computer/cell/index.html It's photoshop, however, so I'm not sure if you can use it with other paint programs. --- By the way, when you make clothes that are black, you should use a dark grey color, and a darker grey for the shading, while the line art is black. Usually you draw the line art first, and color afterward, in a layer underneath the lines. Then you shade on a layer on top of the coloring, and under the lines.
