Similarities Between D.Gray-Man and Full Metal Alchemist?

I dont really think they really are so similair i mean in almost every manga the main character havent got any parents and that they both have crazy hands is true but look at Allens arm and compare it to Eds ITS HUGE beside Allen evolves his to loads of things but Ed just got an Robot arm. So what im trying to say is that you can find similarities between almost all Animes/Mangas. And that the drawings look alot alike mayb is couse someone who worked on FMA works on D. grayman now

My first instict was that they are different but on much thought when you get down to the nitty gritty they do have similarities but its good because when I watch them i don't feel tlike im watching duplicate animes- like some out there (I wont name names )

And not to mention Komui's strong feelings over lenalee and Maes Hughes's strong feelings over his daughter...

haha. When saw Chapter 1 of D. Gray-Man, I shouted "HE LOOKS LIKE ED!" And yeah, even with the major plot differences, I felt like DGM and FMA were similar. They both totally rock!


Oh and, for some reason Komui reminds me of Hughes. I think it's the daughter complex and sister complex thing.

In the beginig yes, I though kid with odd arm like Edward but as the series progresses the story lines are so dissimilar I stopped comparing and watched it for the sake of watching because d.gray man is very, very good

I suppose in various ways that DGM and FMA does have its similarities, but I think all or the majority of animes have their own similarities in ways--though--they still have their own differences as well.

Some parts are similar.......
But, this is the kind of thing you find in ALOT of good anime/manga, so its not a big deal.

Plus, even with the similarities between them, they both have kick-ass plot lines and concepts that are completely different.

So, again, the similarities don't matter at all since both mangas/animes are different enough in their own ways and AREN'T complete rip-offs of the each other.
