I've never experienced racism. This is one of the reasons I believe that there is "white privilege" in our society. I can afford to expect, with relative safety, that nobody will be racist towards me personally within the next year or so. Other people can't. I have a friend who had bread thrown at her in the school cafeteria on a regular basis back when she was in high school because she was half Chinese and half Puerto Rican. White privilege means not having cafeteria food thrown at you because of the color of your skin or the shape of your eyes.

wow, tone down your wording hehe, that statement can be read as you being racist. NO i am not accusing you being a racist, you just have some predjudist view.

There is nothing racist or prejudiced. White privilege is a well-documented phenomena in the West. Despite what some have misconstrued the term to mean, it does not mean that all white people are rich, or that no white people experience racism. It means that, because of the current racial and political system, the people who run the country, the corporations, and the media are predominantly white, and therefore there is an imbalance in power between the races, both culturally and politically. Other races end up getting marginalized. In movies and television, non-white characters are pushed into a number of rigid stereotypes. White actors don't need to worry about being cast as ethnic stereotypes, because our culture views white as kind of the default race. Another symptom of white privilege is the relative certainty that I, a white male, can expect to not receive any racist comments, or be attacked because of my race. This is not prejudice, it is what was taught in the first unbiased anthropology class I went to in college.

wow, at my school it's really diverse and for the most part everyone's really good at not discriminating or at least keeping their mouth shut. So no, unless you count like joking racisim (like between friends insulting their own race XD) like when people are like "oh you're studying? That's so asiannnn" but they're just playing ^___^;;

I haven't gotten anything particularly severe, but yes, people have been racist to me and stereotyped me before.

well, most people are never going to learn u just have to deal with it you know? i remember in middle school when i stood up for these asian kids becuase a group of girl were being racist toward us and in the end i got sent to the office and the principle was stupid... he said we were homo erectus? like wtf?!?! and he said vietnamese is a race like are you stupid? thats an ethnicity... learn ure stuff... like reallly and he call himself a principle. i wonder who hire that man. and those girl were sooo stupid.. i feel bad for their parents raisng a bunch of ignorant daughters. and what sad is that after i stood up for those asian kids they went to the other side of the room. they didnt even say thanks or help me out. this is why i dont really like helping others cuz they dont know how to do things for another person.
