Oh we can. We just dun have someone to share it with.

no, they are just some people out there who just hates valentines day even in a relationship. its too korny for them. its just a sign that they dont have the so-called "love" in their relationship.

Aha, did u guys know Valentines day is the most traveled holiday of the year?
You think it'd b christmas, because of that "home for the holidays" thing, but no tis valentines day. XP
It is quite pointless though, its kinda just another day of our lives with more luvy duvy stuff...

in christmas, most people spend it with their family, so most of them wont travel but stay at home.

im not too sure whether to rant or rave about valentines day this year....i didn't really care about it last year but this year im definitely feeling the pressure....how can you celebrate valentines day with a guy u've just been seeing for 2 weeks eh???

and besides i am not the romantic type of girl....don't really care about bears, flowers and chocolates that much...valentines day is just too overrated....much rather spend it with my sister and bestfriend watching "blood and chocolate" in cinema and have a gossip....*sigh* i hope he doesn't drag me out on a date....im feeling the pressure! ARGH!!!

i just might blow him off with some lame-o excuse...i kinda like the finnish concept though! "Friendship Day!"

Really harsh for the guy. Nevertheless, I agree with that finnish concept. *mopes around*

poor guy, but trying something new for a change is sometimes good. you never know, you might have a great time. valentines day is not overrated. people who are celebrating it are just doing it the old fashioned way. it doesnt have to all those flowers, chocolates, moonlit dinner stuff. valentines day can be anything as long as your feeling the love.

I've found most of the people who don't like Valentine's Day either don't like it because
A. They don't have someone to celebrate it with
B. They think they're "above" all the silliness.

Now it's true you should appreciate your loved ones everyday of the year, but what's wrong with one day where you do something extra? It's completely unrealistic to expect all the plans and such that happen on Valentine's Day to be done on everyday of the year. I'm not saying some parts aren't cheesy or fake, of course some are, but that doesn't destroy the entire holiday. I think it's completely acceptable to celebrate Valentine's Day as a special day were you do something extra to show your love.

But everyone who has a partner expects something for Valentines, and that to me ruins part of the fun. It's way better to do extra things when your significant other is not expecting it.
I don't really like Valentine's day that much (no one's trying to destroy the entire holiday) but it's not because of your lovely false dichotomy is because Valentines here in US seems like it's only for couples, but I'm used to celebrating the "Love and Friendship day" because you celebrate with all your friends and I have had lots of more fun with this holiday than with Valentine's =P

Aw the idea of Love and Friendship Day sounds cute! I like that better too. Unexpected surprises are wonderful too, but the number of people who do things like that isn't too high I'd expect.
