I was just finished enjoying an episode of Hayate The Combat Butler and after it ends, the CR ad sends a song by a New York band called Surfacing entitled "Thank You For The Inspiration". Seriously, I didn't expect that. It's like CR looked into my profile Lol. Pretty cool modern metal song, though.

Comments: Hi, I'm new to the forum and after many years without listening to any Japanese music I've decided to start following your music scene more closely, getting artists' discographies, checking youtube, reading blogs/forums for music news, etc. (maybe I get into jpopsuki somehow, too ) Anyway, the artists above is what I liked most so feel free to recommend me similar NEW (as in last 3-4 years) music/artists that have come on shore. I'm open to many music styles! Feel free to suggest any songs that give goosebumps because of the epic atmosphere, ethereal voice, loud instruments, etc.

Thank you in advance

For instrumentals, I'll recommend 2 very different bands.

* First is 2002. They are New Age-ish, ethereal, and pretty relaxing to listen to. Try "Sea of Dreams" to see what they sound like:

* Second is God Is An Astronaut. Don't let the name bother you. They are more rock oriented, somewhat like Tangerine Dream. Try "Remembrance Day" to see what they sound like:
