I just fear the anime/drama/music companies coming here and ordering all the copywrited materials to be deleted like on YouTube

I think a lot of people call the "old days" better because it was a smaller community so all the users were a lot closer. Now with more people it's impossible to even know the majority of active users on the site where as in the old days you could name a lot of them. So I think some of the people who say the forums "suck" are referring to the fact it's not just a big group of friends anymore, so they miss it. That and unfortunately a lot of the main people who were in the "old days" group are banned D= which makes me sad, but they deserved it. I still talk to them on IRC and AIM though so maybe it doesn't bother me as much?
Those older members who enjoyed the spamming and chatting also say that was a great part about it. Apparently us mods are too strict =P oh noes rules! what tyranny right?

@Dularc- sorry i didn't actually revive this thread ^-^. Someone else did earlier so i thought i would use it while it was here. I'm a new member so i don't really have the right to make a 'good old days' thread! ^-^

@meiskan - isn't the copyrighted stuff removed already? *confused*

@Do0mAid - Ahh so i was sort of right? I think the 'close community' idea is returning a bit now though. Lots of mebers have been reducing their buddy lists down an PMs are now worth 4 points which might be to encourage communication. Hehe mods too strict! I suppose that they are right about that change. With so many members now, cr would be a mess without proper moderation so they have to be strict! ^-^

I think those are the licensed material. I mean, I upload NANA (not licensed so it's here on CR) on YouTube and I've been suspended a few times for uploading it because it was copywrited. It was the Nippon Television Company that made the request for deletion of NANA videos on YouTube, I think.

I think the only stuff that got removed was stuff that is licensed in America. Everything is licensed in Japan so I guess everything is copywrited right? o_0 i'm confused. . .

I am a fairly new member too. But when I did join there were not nearly as many forum topics. and I have noticed that %50 of the new topics have to be locked because one already exists. I have also noticed alot of double posting. So it is good to have mods around ^_^

I think you're right about the feeling returning. I remember one of the other mods explaining to someone that all forums have highs and lows, meaning you can't expect the place to flooded with posts all the time. Anyways yeah, it seems a lot of small groups of friends are forming which is good. It's easy to feel kind of "lost" in a community that's just made up of 82930218329 people XD, but if your part of a group within the community it makes it more fun! It's the same idea as a MMORPG or even real life high school. I wouldn't call them cliques, but things are always more fun when you can share it with someone you know?
I agree about the mods (well obviously seeing as I am one ) but the pre-mod days drove me insaaaaaaaane. I cried with joy when Shinji took the first round of apps =P.

What I want to know its, exactly how many accounts are created on CR? Or at least an estimated amount. Been curious about that.

Well, if u look @ shinji's friends he has over 2,000. Of course not everyone adds him as a friend. A member list would b nice though.

member list, nah just give everyone numbers. People like that kind of stuff.

I think that it's good that mods are so strict to a certain extent because it prevents the forums from being filled with spammers and trolls. When the community was smaller and people were closer, CR was able to get away with it because everyone knew each other so well. Since there are so many members now, misunderstandings are easily created.
This is purely my ruminations though, I wasn't part of "the good old days".

Necroposting... gomen.

It's only recently that I realized the reality of CR shutting down if it gets too big and gets into trouble for what it does... heck, this is the one site where I've really come to spend my days watching and chatting with people from all over the world. And I do see tons and tons of new members every day...

Yep one day cr is as big as youtube

Edit: memberlist is not that difficult to make...
Maybe should all the members that cr has now receive a kind of ribon :D
We where the first ^___^

^ haha! I don't mind being considered a newbie.:P

I thought that the CR points were an indicator of seniority, then Killar banned a guy with 3000+ CR points... guess sometimes it's more than simply having the most posts/photos/videos uploaded etc. to be considered a senior.
