When is.....SPOILER QUESTIONS, READ AT YOUR OWN RISK

I know this isn't really the place since their aren't really any topics at all. I hope somebody can answer me though :)

1) Before ANY of the arcs begin, who is already infected and has access to the pathogen?

2) When is Rika infected and by who? Specifically referring to Shion's Answer Arc when she's carrying around the needle to attack Shion which confused me.

1) Anyone in Hinamizawa is already infected. As for who has access to the Pathogen, Dr. Takano, Dr. Irie, the photographer, and Tokyo, the group.
2) Rika is NEVER infected. Shion was trying to poison Rika. You will find out soon enough, Rika is the only one who is keeping the parasite in check, and everyone tame.

WARNING MEGA SPOILERS!!!

1) is already pretty much answered

2) shion was the first one whose virus was active so rika came with an antidote, but shion thought it was poison so shion took it from her and injected rika with it. rika was merely trying to save her.

fun fact: when rika was injected with the antidote, she went "crazy" because shes the queen carrier and i guess she was not supopsed to be cured.
also when rika stabs herself, its not in her head, she stabs her neck because the disease makes people scratch at their neck, and there was a knife there so rika did it that way

1) There are no pathogens, what happens is a mental disorder occurs and causes all these incidence to occur to the main character. The antidote that Rika cares is not real an antidote. So called Hinamaziwa Syndrome is when person that contains it goes slowly insane. There are five levels. The antidote that Rika carriers around reduces from level 5 to level 3. The characters that contain that “syndrome” wore Satoko, Satoshi, Keichii, Shion, and Rena. The only once that didn’t have it wore Mion and Rika.

1.2 ) You Might ask so when Rika dies why everyone does die? Well the reason for that is that Hanyuu and Rika are connected when Rika dies she leaves the world and so does Hanyuu. From the way beginning of the story Hanyuu was actually the protector of Hinamizawa. However she wasn’t able to complete her task and was killed. Hanyuu is only one of the “God” is When they Cry series so I believed that something happens when Hanyuu and Rika disappear.

It's like in the begining of Higurashi no naku koro ni Kai remember she took a shot^^ and Rika was "if i could i would switch places with you."

on a vacation with her parents
she saw them get pushed of a cliff and went crazy which made hinamizawa disese kick in
ithink thats how it happened anyway
but im know that its at level 3 and she has to take medicene for it every so it doesnt get to level 5

Satoko was indeed, already infected, like the rest of Hinamizawa. But her hatred for her step-father made it progress to Level 4, or 5, where she pushed her own parents off the railing.

As for "when Rika dies, everyone dies", that is simply because she is the Queen Carrier, not because she leaves or anything. It's much the same with ants. When the queen dies, the rest of the colony does as well. Hanyuu actually comes before Rika, and stays after Rika dies, for a little bit anyways, for Rika says, "Hanyuu, you came here before me! What day is it? What year? What month?" in one of the episodes.

There is no proof that if Rika dies, everyone dies. symptoms just get worse, but that doesnt result death.

Rika's function is more like taming people that they wont go on rampage.
that why goverment allows to kill all village to avoid insanely paranoic people wandering around and killing everyone they see.


however I don't understand if that is some infection or genetic disease?
because quite a lot people visit or leave that village but only very few develop some symptoms
and seems that having Rika around doesnt help much either

that would be stupid to die from antidote.
more likely that was some sedative to tame rampaging Shion.
that antidote is too slow to do some job anyway.

also it does not really affected rika anyway, since she decided to kill herself to avoid being tortured

i believe satoko killed them.. and its not that she got its just that she inhabits hinamizawa and she got it. when she left hinamizawa the "disease'' kicked since she was nowhere near rika. the whole village has it thats why when rika dies so does the village... theyll kill each other..thats what i get so far i have not finished watching it.. but in the begining of the season (kai) the only person you see is grown rena.. me guess is she probably got the vaccine and everyone died or it could be the ''soot'' that falls... i mean how the town becomes engulfed with the balck powder.. i forgot what its called but its volcanic ash i believe... what i also get is there is no hope for everyone to survive... even with rika there they can still go crazy and go on a killing rampage... it has to d with the tress... i realy dont know how t explain this... btw do you guys know how this anime got started? if you dont look it up... its pretty funny. the reason i find it funny is that it became something complex

Rika is like a tamer while the villagers are the lion...
Lets say that all the lions got sick and only the cure is that staying with the tamer...
Rika is keeping the virus down,if those virus act up Rika is not able to keep it down as she as to take care of the whole villager which as many people staying there.
And if Rika dies,and has no one to take her place as the Queen Carier,
the whole village will fall.
Thats why Rika's existence is necessary

yeah Rika is like the queen bee
if she dies or if somebody who has lived in Hinamizawa moves then the will go crazy and it usually ends up in death
