MGS 1 ofcourse...
Great:
1. Story
2. MUSIC (both in-game and cut scene)
3. Character Dev't
4. Voice Acting
5. Gameplay
6. Sound FX
7. Graphics
8. and a f****n touching ending
...what more could i ask for from an action game?
...and this is coming from a guy who's played all MGSs; don't get me wrong though, i enjoyed the boss battles in MGS3 a lot more and the cinematic cut scenes of MGS4 but no other MGS delivers everything so well in just one package than MGS1. I don't have anything nice to say about MGS2 unfortunately =(
